Obviously, they are not all here anymore with the exit of Ridgeway. So, who do you most want to see this year? Who do you think steps up?

Round 1 • Pick 24 (24) • OT Tyler Smith
Round 2 • Pick 24 (56) • EDGE Sam Williams
Round 3 • Pick 24 (88) • WR Jalen Tolbert
Round 4 • Pick 24 (129) • TE Jake Ferguson
Round 5 • Pick 12 (155) • OT Matt Waletzko
Round 5 • Pick 24 (167) • CB DaRon Bland
Round 5 • Pick 33 (176) • LB Damone Clark
Round 5 • Pick 35 (178) • DT John Ridgeway
Round 6 • Pick 14 (193) • LB Devin Harper

For me it's Damone Clark. He could bring some much needed depth to that position. And, if he does show something, getting him in round 5 is a bonus.

I'll take Jake Ferguson...I think dude has all the tools. He also looks to make moves after the catch and I think with added targets (bye Dalton), another offseason and the confidence of having played a year already - he could really take the next step. I also think if he does take the next step the impact will be huge on this offense!

edit - I also selected him as my guy last off season when similar things were asked of these guys when they were rookies lol.... Ferg is my DUDE!

Actually all of them. But if I have to pick only one, as it would be a tough choice. Sam Williams. We need a top pass rusher. Durance Armstrong is a nice compliment type player, and DLaw is not what he used to be, in his one hit wonder year, but he is still very good, but needs that book end pass rusher. Other than Parsons.
Williams needs to make that jump.

Very good thread topic!

There are several good candidates on that list and it’s tough to pick just one.

But in keeping with the rules, I’d go with Ferguson at this point. With Schultz leaving, he’s currently thrust into the TE #1 role, barring a high draft pick coming in.

He shows great potential so I’m eager to see more.

I have to go with 1a)Sam Williams and 1b)DaRon Bland.

The thought of Bland as the 3rd corner while Gilmore locks up the 2 spot and Diggs does his things makes me very happy. We could lead the league in takeaways just off of CBs this year.

All of them except when ridgeway plays dallas. I'd like to see Clark take the reigns.

I believe that Clark and Ferguson will be Day 1 starters in 2023. DaRon Bland has a good chance of taking over the starting nickel corner from Jourdan Lewis some time during the season. Along with Tyler Smith, that would give the Cowboys 4 starters out of the 2022 draft - which would rival the 2016 draft which gave the Cowboys 5 eventual starters in Zeke, LB Jaylon Smith, DT Malik Collins, Dak, and CB Anthony Brown.

I expect Sam Williams to carry a heavier load, but not become a starter this coming season. If he progresses, it allows the Cowboys to make decisions about DeMarcus Lawrence in 2024, which could open the LDE position for Sam Williams, and bring their starters from the 2022 draft to 5. Harper and Waletzko are likely going to be depth players and special teamers for their time in Dallas, but the Cowboys also added a key undrafted player with Hendershot, who could start some games when the Cowboys deploy 12 personnel groups to start the game.

Tolbert .. I know he's 4th on the depth chart atm but hopefully he will get plenty of opportunities.
