Is the Cowboys are preparing as if Cooper and warmack will be gone @18 . The guys on the ticket are saying if this is the case the cowboys won't go OL until 3rd or 4th round and the guys they love are David Queensberry and Brian Sweinke . Apparently they love Tyler Effiert , Tank Carradine And Eric Reid ( even in the 1st)

Given the idiots running our front office, this would not surprise me in the least

I have never thought they were going to draft an OL in the first unless it was stud LT, and they will be long gone at 18. Schweinke in 3rd would be a great pick. Eifert is a real wild card. No way they pick Reid at 18. Carradine gives them the option of dumping Spencer and saving a whole load of cap room just like Hopkins in the 2nd gives them the option of dumping Miles and saving cap room.

I'm sure the "guys on the Ticket" know what the Cowboys are going to do in the draft.

I would hope that the Cowboys are prepared for Warmack and Cooper to be gone. In 2009 they were not prepared when Max Unger was gone before their 1st pick (2nd round) and panicked. It was not a well kept secret that the Cowboys wanted Unger. Mike Holmgren, one of Jerry's "Buddies" traded up a couple of spots ahead of the Cowboys and took Unger. Any chance that Jerry blabbed to Holmgrem on that one?

Loose lips sink ships. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry had gushed about their draft plans over some drinks with his pal at some point in time.

If we go DE in the 1st the best move we have may actually be to trade back a bit and go DT or Safety.

I wouldn't mind if we traded back in the first and traded back in the second and ended up somehow with a mid-20s pick and 3 third rounders or perhaps two 3ds and two 4th rounders.

I would be fine with carridine or Reid in a trade back if cooper, Warmack are gone.

Also I'm a fan of schwenke and Quessenberry

I smell smoke on this one, one of those guards will be there I'll almost guarantee it.

Dallas Morning News had its Sunday before the draft edition today....several pages of history and discussion.
Rainer Sabin did his final mock and had Cooper going to Dallas. It seems far-fetched, but when you look at his draft it was not real crazy

That's what the guys on the ticket keep saying . That the cowboys are in love with this guy and would consider him @ 18 if he is there . This after one of them saw their chalk board had s 5 guys circeled (effiert, vaccaro, lacy, reid, carridine) Their other pet cat is apparently Tank Carridine .

You already posted this information in the Fan Zone.

The likelihood that a radio person was able to get into VR and see the actual draft board is pretty slim.

I know it's common to post any little bit of tidbit about the draft days before the event but posting "radio hearsay" is a bit misleading, especially when you preface it with "What I'm hearing..."

NFL COMPARISON Doug Free
BOTTOM LINE Quessenberry is around 300 pounds now after coming into college at around 240 pounds. He's still going to need to gain the necessary upper-body and leg strength to handle NFL defensive linemen, but the 2012 first-team All-WAC pick should win over scouts with his impressive overall skill set. Quessenberry may be able to stay at tackle at the next level, but might be a better fit for offensive guard.

THis is exactly what we need another Doug Free:lmao2:

They didnt attend alot of pro days FWIW.

They attended the pro days of most of the players that they are interested in.

They didn't bring him into valley ranch.. Didn't interview him at any of the other events.. I don't see them staying put at 18 or even trading back for a guy they haven't checked out.

Warmack, Cooper, Vaccaro, Richardson, Short, Sly Williams, Eric Reid, Deandre Hopkins etc etc are all 1st round options and they met with all of them and attended all those pro days. Unless they trade WAY down or WAY up I expect the 1st rounder will be used on one of those players

Or Wares. IIRC they didn't bring in or interview Ware either. Didn't show a bit of interest.

I really like Schwenke in the 3rd. Reminds of a poor man's Nick Mangold.

More "pro ready" than Quessenberry.

Well Eifert and/or Carradine may very well be the BPA at 18. There's a good likelihood that Warmack/Cooper/Richardson are off the board at that point.

Carradine was looking like a top 10 pick during the season, he's just scratching his potential and if the knee checks out he may wind up being a steal. We're making a philosophical change on D and adding a legit LE prospect to help ease the transition makes sense. Spencer is on a 1-year deal and Ware is coming off a season with multiple injuries, not to mention we don't know how they'll look playing DE in this new system.

Eifert is a consensus top 15-20 player in this class and Garrett has pumped resources into the TE2 since he's been here, it just hasn't worked out yet. If his ultimate vision for this offense is a singleback 2TE set Eifert makes a lot of sense. Hanna is not an in-line guy, he's more of an H-back... where Eifert is more of a traditional in-line guy that is extremely well rounded.

I'm not saying he is the pick but not attending a pro day doesnt mean much. Only 11 teams attended Carradines pro day. I bet more than 11 teams are interested. Broaddus tweeted this about them not being there.

I think they like Cooper and Richardson alot and would take at 18. I think Warmack is there and they wont take him at 18.

Don't trust our OL talent evaluators AT ALL, so if we can't get one of the elite OL in round 1, then we are basically screwed in getting any young talent this year at those positions. Might as well just concentrate on other positions and try and get some help in Free Agent market.

I don't believe this for a second, in part because the original poster is always looking for negatives to throw out there to chum the water. This seems like just the thing he would love to post (oh look, Cowboys don't value either line!).

I see several better prospects (IMO) that could very well be there, starting with Sylvester Williams, Tavon Austin, and Datone Jones.

I think Datone Jones and S Williams both have a pretty good chance of ending up in Dallas. Much better IMO than Eifert or Carradine.

I could be wrong, but both Williams and Jones have much better chances at being picked at 18.
