A month ago today, I had a TURP operation. My life was never in danger, fortunately, but this stuff has been painful. I spent the night in hospital after the operation with a catheter in, and that thing HURT! The doc said a 4 to 6 week recovery is normal. I'm not in the same pain I was in when I first got home, but there's still enough that I'm frustrated. I haven't been able to work, and there's important stuff I need to get back to. I've tried to avoid pain meds, but I've ended up needing them. But I'm off the really strong stuff. I guess prayers wouldn't hurt if you're so inclined.

Well, I don't pray, but I wish you the best. I've had my gangrenous gallbladder removed, a torn rotator cuff repaired, had a prostatectomy, and other stuff. The only time I used the opioid pain meds was the first couple of nights, just so I could sleep. They always told me to "stay ahead of the pain", but it seems to me, that that's a good way to get addicted.

You're smart to avoid the pain meds when possible.

It's not a problem if you're not into that. You get to be you. Thanks for your support.

Praying for your recovery Rev. Definitely doesn’t hurt.
