FS Darian Thompson - Boise St.

I think Thompson is just the kind of player Dallas needs at safety. Whether he plays the FS or SS position or both he brings a lot to the table. A team captain with good size at 6-2 212, great tackler and blitzer and is definitely a ballhawk with 19 interceptions in his college career. Snared another 12 while in high school and also played WR and even returned kicks and punts there too. So obviously, he's got good hands for the ball and is looking more to catch passes and not just defend them etc. Thompson's 19 MWC interceptions broke the record of Utah, and future NFL star, Eric Weddle. I'll be keeping an eye on him during the Senior Bowl for sure. If he puts in a solid workout as well, I would like to draft him in the 2nd round. Would love for this guy to come in and just take over one of the safety positions. Am I getting too excited about this player what do you guys think?

We have seem to have a recent affinity for Boise State defenders. I wouldn't hate him in the 3rd or later.

I have watched most of his games and I think he is going to make a very good pro. He has good range, a knack for the ball, he has good size and he his strong against the run. Great kid too. If we spent our 2nd on him I would not be upset and if he was there for our 3rd, to me, its a no-brainer.

Unfortunately, I think our staff is going to roll with Jones and Church in '16.

Stay away.....The guy is a gambling fool. Just watch the BYU game this year...and long TDs given up. All his work. He loves to sneak up and play in the action.....when his job as a FS should be as deep as anyone on the field....Yet he repeatedly let's people get over the top of him. He would be a SS though. Jones would be free safety

If we grab a FS then Jones moves to CB, grabbing a SS will allow Jones to stay at FS and just need a CB in free agency or mid to late round pick. Although I really like Hargreaves
