FS with Wade on board?

With Wades background in defense, what do you people think he does at FS?

I wonder if he will try to move Henry to the spot but who would he bring in at corner?

I almost believe that he may see something in Watkins but it will not surprise me if he does bring in a FA vet for comfort.

I think Pat Watkins can win the job if they don't pick up a free agent. But for the right price they may pick up someone.

Thats how I feel. And with Wade, he may bring more out of Watkins.

watkins has great speed and should really thrive in this defense. he can blitz with his speed and won't have to cover all day like last year. those 25 yd passes will be a thing of the past when we get a pass rush which we should have this year.i would bring in edwards if i could to help tutor the lb's and unless some one like thomas comes fre i would stand pat on defense for the most part.rebuild the oline and watch this team soar

I just dont see the need to spend so much money on a FA corner and change your defense around with moving Henry. Watkins was a rookie last season and I think Parcells coaching had alot to do with his poor play.


Lets give Phillips an opportunity to develop this guy Watkins. He is fast and long and plays well if he knows what he is supposed to do. He was excellent at Florida State and I still think he was a steal to get in the fifth round. I think Phillips will be able to bring out a better player than Parcells.

Just remember guys. Parcells really did not get the most out of a very talented team and his style was pretty outdated. It is no secret that his vanilla defense and no chances offenses limited the coaches. HE was excellent in evaluating talents and finding good players ( like shanle who just reupped with the Saints) but he sucked at maximizing their talent.

I think we will see another Tampa Bay scene where Dungy opened the box but Gruden got the prize. Parcells left this team in great shape talent wize but coaching is the key. We were outcoached (NO, Detroit, Seattle,...) alot last season and the games we won was based on talent alone and being better than the other team.

Dallas has already invested $11 million in Guarantees to Henry.

I would love Leon Hall from Michigan, but he is going to be long gone by the time we draft at 22.

Is there any other real good corners beside Hall in the draft this year? Hall is the only big name, shut down, corner that I have heard mentioned.

I'm assuming even tho Parcells has left that we still will have a real good weight conditioning offseason program. Watkins is skinny and needs to build up his size/strength to really be able to lay a hit on some of the players he must face. This kid has shown he'a real hard worker and I expect Phillips can recognize talent when he sees it and has the ability to develop that talent.

I'm looking for some real good things from Watkins this year along with a bunch of other players. We still have a very young defense (except for Ferguson/A.Glenn) but wouldn't be surprised to see us grab a top CB to prepare for eventual departure of Glenn & Henry/Newman down the road. Besides backups Reeves & Jones didn't stand out muc last year so CB is a major need pickup.
