The team will be competive this year no matter what happens. Can we win a super bowl? I guess we could, but we probably aren't going to change our fortunes that much in free agency.

I see we only have a little over 50 guys on the roster based on comments in another thread. We will be adding around 10 players give or take in this draft. That gets us up to around 63 players, but ONLY 53 will make the final roster.

Maybe the team is going to bring in a ton of UDFAs to fill out the 90 man roster and pay them almost nothing and hope to unearth a few diamonds in the rough.

Since the hit rate on 7th round picks is pretty low (as are 5th rounders) maybe we will bring in 30 UDFAs and hope though sheer numbers to get a few guys to fill in the roster.

Maybe we have a full blown youth movement in place.

Now you all are getting it. Its a rebuild via the draft. I think what JJ and JG are trying to do,with Will McClay callin the shots on players,is re-invoke the Dallas dominance of the 1990's...and I get that, and the nostalgic part of me LOVES AND APPRECIATES THAT. I really do. But I feel the past is the past and the way we draft now as opposed to the 90's is night and day. What gets lost in this is the fact we had no salary cap in place back then. In the era of the cap you must utilize Free agency in an aggressive AND SMART manner...then mesh it all together. The bargain bin has failed us..its time to get aggressive. But hey, thats just one fans opinion.

20 years into the process so be patient.
Guess when we start winning rings maybe we will win4 or 5 more SB's to make up for lost time...lol...This process has taken so long we lived thru the era of Jay Leno taking over the tonight show THEN RETIRING lol...and now its on to Colbert...lol..STILL no ring. That's over 20 friggin years and no more rings...I just wanted to put that into perspective a bit...to add to what ya said.

I get my TV hosts mixed up...so someone correct me if I got the wrong host..they are all about the same to me.

I think the goal is to extend the process in perpetuity. 8,9 wins keeps the fans dangling forever.

Mission accomplished I guess. The Day Jimmy J walked out the door ended ANY SHOT we had of ever regaining longterm sustainable glory. It can be done..but I think fans have grown weary of this process.

by the way the jaguars are younger than us. somehow didn't stop them from reaching a place we haven't in 22 years. but i like the sound of "youth movement". easily marketable to the sheep and buys garrett another 10 years. let's roll with it!

great point.I said this earlier.

If I'm not mistaken the Cowboys are the youngest team in the league? The youth movement already happened when they got rid of their secondary last year. Can't get any younger now.

Up front..d line..Linebackers. Way I see it,we need to trade Sean Lee now before those Hammys give out.

The Jags are I think. We are right there though.

Youth is great, but we need fresh blood...new leaders...MAYBE Jaylon Smith.

We have a full blown cheap movement, is what we have.

If we had cash, they'd have lured some sucker in here with the promise of riches.

Without cash, why would anyone want to play here, much less a vet that's already running out of prime years.
