Full color pictures from the Great Depression

Wow those are some amazing pics and that wasnt to long ago either. The shasta dam pic was nice and i got a "the grapes of wrath"vibe from several of them.
Its amazing how much weve changed since these pics were snapped.
When men were men and women were women and each knew their respective place.

Those are terrific photos, but most are from the 40's...labeling them from the "Great Depression" seems like a stretch, even if it's technically correct. Almost seems more appropriate to label them as photos from the second World War era.

Either way, thanks for posting. Very cool.

A woman's work is never done: Mrs Viola Sievers, one of the wipers at the roundhouse, giving a giant 'H' class locomotive a bath of live steam in Clinton, Iowa, April 1943

Like this....:D

That last picture..

QUICK NO ONE SMILE

And I'm pretty sure that guy's daughter on the right is Napoleon Dynamite.

This is actually a repost. Someone posted a different link (Denver Post?)of these pictures about a year ago, IIRC.

Good pictures nonetheless.

I waked past this a few years ago, and save for the PBR Billboard, it looks pretty much the same. Chicago is such a beautiful city.
