So you have a 1st rounder that won't start, due to resign of Tank, and Taco/Irving/Crawford/Tapper/Mayowa
Two tight ends that are behind the three TE's already on the team
Another 3T who will need to beat out Collins, Crawford, Irving just to see any playing time, while still not getting a legit 1T.

Somehow this wouldn't surprise me if this is what Dallas would do.
I think it would keep them mediocre, but it wouldn't be surprising.

Well for starters, Mayowa and Tapper are basically expendable. They certainly wouldn't keep a rookie DE who showed promise off the depth chart. Second, Irving is, at best, a swing guy who can play SDE but is likely a better 3 Tech. So that leaves Tank and Taco really.

I have no idea if Davenport is legit or not but if there is a pass rushing DE there at 19 that you love and he's the best player on the board, you take him. Look at Philly. They had Graham, Curry and they had also signed Chris Long in FA and still went out and took Derek Barnett in the first round.

You can never have enough elite pass rushers.

And if one is really honest with themselves, our pass rush was average this year. It just was. It felt better than it normally was because it's been horrendous in the past but even with Lawrence's breakout season, they were middle of the pack in the NFL in sacks and QB pressures. So yeah, we could absolutely use an elite pass rushing end.

I wouldn't argue it, if you think they are elite. I have a hard time though saying he will be elite when he came from UTSA. That makes me think project instead of elite pass rushing DE.

With that said, if the scouts etc think he is elite,,,,,,,,,,then by all means the draft and team just got better because of the pick.

IMO, this team gets a better rush, when they get a better push up the middle with a legit 1T........allowing for the DE's to be 1-1 all the time or forcing extra receivers to stay in and help.

let pass, Da'Ron Payne, Calvin Ridley, Tremaine Edmunds, and Vita Vea to select Marcus Davenport with first round pick? and with the second round picks let pass Rashaan Evans, Ronnie Harrison, James Washington, Malik Jefferson to select Taven Bryan and Leighton Vander, do you know what you are saying? c'mon!!!

Dislike: Cutting Dez
Like: adding Davenport, Bryan, and Hubbard to the defensive line.

so we cut Dez and do nothing for WR until 5thC. Jake Wieneke WR South Dakota St. This FO has stated they do not like small schools (non-FBS), and you have them drafting two kids from the same school South Dakota State. I guess one is a conditional 5th but....

Signed Josh Gordon... WR...

I hate the first pick of Davenport who will be a project. He has good potential but I would vomit if we passed Vea or Payne who would start immediately and be an upgrade to get Davenport.

I also consider our Offensive line critically thin and your draft passes on ol until the 11th pick. I think it has to be addressed early.

I do like Vander Esch, Goedert and Meeks as players.
