Hypothetically speaking for fun, out of the 6 FAs we signed, if they were in this years draft class what round would they go in?

DE- Kony Ealy- 3rd round
WR- Allen Hurns- 3rd round
WR- Deonte Thompson- 5th round
OT- Cameron Fleming- 3rd round
OL.- Marcus Martin- 5th round
LB -Joe Thomas- 5th round

Seems like you have done most of the work. Although I would put Hurns in the 2nd rd. Maybe mid to late 2nd.

Considering how many draft picks fail to even make it in the league, you're probably grading too tough. You're grading them against potential that might never be realized. Just look at Hurns as an example against last year's receivers class. Grading him as a third-rounder would mean he would be considered worse than Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross, Zay Jones, Curtis Samuel and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Smith-Schuster is the only one of that group who had a season worthy of being selected ahead of Hurns. And Hurns wasn't just better than them in his fourth year in the league, he was better than them his rookie year as well.

Hurns is too low. Only 58% of 1st round WR start in half the games of their career. 49% of those taken in the 2nd round.

We get to use hindsight with Hurns and know he's not a busted pick.

Ealy undrafted
Hurns second
Fleming third
Thompson fourth
Martin third
Thomas fifth

Now, what rounds did they originally get drafted?

What if the all ball, would you give them a 1st round grade at the end of the year?

They are all 2nd rounders in Jerry's eyes.

Are they current age or draft age in this scenerio?

If you knew you were getting a definite starting caiber player, then Hurns could go early 2nd. A guaranteed starter on a rookie contract has quite a bit of value.

Let's use a player we are more familiar with, Ron Leary. He is not a star player like Zack Martin but is a very solid starting OG. Teams often draft 2nd round OGs looking for exactly that type of player.

We don't know the new players well enough to answer the question accurately.

I think you would measure rookies more on possible career than rookie season

Do t you think some of those guys will be way better going forward? Several were injured, besides being rookies

Some of them probably will, but the receiver position has a high bust rate. Based on Hurns' numbers his first few years in the league, he would have been valued as a first-round receiver. The last two with the injuries would bring him down, though, although even that is possibly more than any receiver taken in the first two rounds of this draft will accomplish.
