Funny Drew Pearson Quote Sums It Up

I was listening to The Blitz 1250am in San Antonio and they were interviewing Drew Pearson. They asked him who was going to win the NFC East

I'm a Cowboy fan, I'm gonna pick the Cowboys. You know I've been drinking this Kool-Aid for a long time and I'm not gonna stop drinking it now. I'm not drinking it straight out of the glass like I used too, I'm using a straw now to sip it, not drinking it in big gulps like I used to......

I thought it was pretty funny and really summed up how I feel about the team these days. I always have been and will always be a Cowboy fan and like Drew I'm still drinking the Kool-Aid, just drinking it through a straw and not big gulps.

I quit drinking the Kool Aid altogether a long time ago. There comes a time when fans have to see things as they are and not get caught up in the hype. Folks like our GM, team publicists and the media have dutifully hyped the Cowboys' public into swallowing their Kool Aid long and hard enough to have created a totally distorted image of the team for those longing to see things as they'd like 'em to be. The time is well at hand to see this team as they are, not how Jerry would like us to. Thank goodness it's getting to the point where it can't be hidden any longer. For change to be implemented, admission of the need for it must be faced up to. May the truth prevail.
