Don't know if anyone else noticed it but was wondering if anyone else caught jay ratliff shrugging at Trent Williams after he got called for holding against ware at 14:24 in the 4th quarter. I remember seeing it and cracking up during the game. Ratliff just gave him that "what are you gonna do" look. If anyone can hook me up with a gif I would appreciate it.

but williams owns ware.

butler showed him a couple times how to get around him with the swim move.
butler got caught up in the wash... but he did get around him.

Wonder if he realizes Williams was blatantly holding Ware on that play or he'd have had another sack.

If Williams truly "owns" Ware, Williams wouldn't need to hold, tackle, trip him every time Ware is about to sack the QB.

maybe we are not watching the same game.

both times we played the Commanders williams dominated ware.

and ware is my second favorite player on this team.

I think you're off your rocker. Williams is a good tackle, but I'm not seeing 'domination'. He's not stonewalling Ware or putting him on his back. He holds his ground often, but he gets away with a lot of holding too.

I also went back and looked at couchscout's assessment of it...

Ware - I remember saying on here way back in like 2006ish, one of my very first posts that if Ware would learn and utilize an inside move, he'd be almost unstoppable. Last year he would break it out on a very rare occasion, but this season he's using it much frequently and it's paying dividends. Williams was handing Ware ok all night (you know, minus the blatant holds and tackles), but in the 4th quarter, Ware used the Freeney spin move on him and nailed Grossman forcing an incomplete and a punt. Williams struggled with Ware the rest of the game. Once the tackle has to stay aware of the inside move, and can't just rush to the cutoff point, it's over for them against a guy like Ware. On the last play, Williams rushed to the cutoff point, Ware went inside forcing a double team super hold by the LT and LG, and forcing Grossman out of the pocket where Spencer did his thing. Without that inside move, both tackles push Ware and Spencer past the pocket, and who knows what Grossman does, and who knows how that game ends.

my name is lane.

i'm smoking a marlboro light.

no big deal though...

certain players give great players fits..

erik williams was probably the only tackle to ever shut down reggie white.

same thing applies here.

He has three blatant holds on ware that would have produced sacks on Ware. And that is just of the ones i can recall.

He just knows when to hold
