(well, to my twisted sense of humor at least)

It was the play toward the end of the game where Crayton caught a ball in the red zone and was nearing the 10 or so yard line...

he was trying to direct Andre Gurode to get up ahead of him and block the oncoming DB and Gurode was lumbering to try and get over there but it wasn't fast enough so Crayton just shoved Gurode full-force from the back and Gurode went flying into the oncoming DB who in turn flew backward like 5 yards... and Gurode was just laying there flat on his face for like 10 seconds after the play like "what the hell just happened..."

:laugh2:

It was on the reverse.

And for some reason Gurode found himself staring backwards at Crayton, instead of looking downfield for someone to block.

I think Gurode got a little shaken up on that play, too.

I liked the second to last play of the game when we are running the clock out. Romo snaps the ball and fakes like he is going to pass and hands off to Choice. E

Crayton has been terrific thus far, a possible pro bowl bid ahead.

I was laughing at the push until Gurode was just laying there for a minute. It was more like, "hahahaoooonoooononononooooo!"

:laugh2: That describes most of our running plays this season.

That was my reaction as well because I was worried that proctor would be back for the season.:(

Watch the replay and it appears that a defender fell flat on Gurode's legs. I wondered why Gurode was looking back at Crayton rather than down the field for a defender to pancake.

I think the whole right side of the line was standing out there looking around for someone to block. You can't get fooled much worse than that on a reverse. I lol'd.

I think Gurode's first option may have been to block the backside pursuit. Maybe not, but he nailed the DB.

Close, linemen are taught to NEVER block someone who is behind the ball carrier. If he gets caught from behind, then so be it. However, on a reverse, usually one offensive lineman peels back and watches for defenders that have an angle on the ball carrier. On that play, Peppers was caught crashing down too much on the inside run and the peel back block was not needed.

Since we're talking about this play, Roy has been an absolutely fantastic blocker all season, but he let his man get away from him and he's the one that made the tackle, that play shoulda been six. Then we aren't even talking about the two fade calls on the goalline.

true, but i'm more apt to forgive roy for losing one block when he's been a good blocker all year as opposed to JG who makes finesse calls like throwing with 1 yard to go instead of playing smash mouth when we have a behemoth line and are playing a team that is hurt up front and couldn't stop the run all night.
