According to the ESPN playoff predictor we all know a win or a Giants loss clinches us HFA throughout however did you realize that:

If we beat Detroit we clinch a spot for the Giants as well. In order for the Giants to miss the playoffs they have to lose both games, Atlanta and Tampa Win out, and Detroit has to beat us and then lose to GB. If Detroit loses to us no matter what the Giants are in.

I guess if the Giants lose tomorrow we would already clinch HFA so maybe we should throw the Monday night game? Just funny food for thought that they would then be rooting for us.

No. No. No. No. Nope. Never ever throw a game. Momentum, and a team's psyche, matter in sports. Even if they all agree to let Detroit romp em, other teams might see it and think they can walk am over the Cowboys.

You win, or try to win, every game no matter what.

Nothing funny about us throwing a football game especially on Monday night with the nation watching. We have an opportunity to set a franchise record with 14 wins and need to be playing our best football entering the playoffs.

Haha that's funny. As much as I'd love to just crap all over their hopes..

Might as well just accept now they'll be the 5th seed, and we could very well be playing them in the 2nd. Although Falcons getting upset in the first round isn't impossible.

A couple people are taking my post a little too seriously. I would not want them to throw the game at all. I would just assume win out. I was just saying it's funny that should we get beat it actually hurts them and their chances of making the playoffs. I think they will end up being the five seed and have to go play at Green Bay

This season can't be complete without a victory against the Giants. Even a Super Bowl run without it would leave a slightly hollow feeling.

The Cowboys are better than that team. We might or might not be better than Atlanta, New England, Seattle, or even Green Bay right now, but we're better than that flawed bunch in New York.

It's a Mara imperative that we beat them.

Detroit could also lose both remaining games and still take the 6th playoff spot.

It is a funny situation though, because if you have "nothing" to play for, and you might face the lions again or the Giants again, do you start to play vanilla and keep some things under wraps or do you just let it all go and retool for the next game to give the team more experience running those custom plays. I'm think you just go out and play to win and give them more to think about for next time. It might be very tempting to keep some things in the back pocket though

Actually.. the team is probably more consistent when they don't get cute so this strategy will surely backfire and cause them to get super cute in the playoffs.. with a jet sweep double reverse screen pass to Witten for 2 yards..

Yup. Honestly I still need closure for 2007.

It would seem to be impossible to do both this year, but I also need closure against the Packers for 2014.

Jackie Smith. Dwight Clark. Earl Morral. Pat Haden. '94 in San Fran. '06, '07, '14......

I suppose I need to let stuff go.

Thank God I didn't see the Ice Bowl.
