Funny quote about the Commanders season

"If the Washington Commanders' schedule was any softer it would be on a package of Charmin. If the Commanders were a college team (which, at times, they resemble), pundits would mocking the team's strength of schedule. As the great Joe Posnanski pointed out this morning on his blog, when the Commanders host the 0-5 Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, it will mark the team's sixth consecutive game against a winless team. I'll repeat that because it doesn't sound as impressive the first time around: So far this season, every team the Commanders have played has been winless at the time of the game. According to STATS LLC, it's the first time in the history of the NFL that this has happened. The last team to have faced five winless teams was the 1954 Giants."
A friend just sent me this quote, which I found hilarious, naturally.

They played the Giants, which because it was the first game of the year they were winless. That one doesn't really count. But the next 5 yes, buncha crap..

Mark Packer, the host of the local radio show here in Charlotte, was talking about that last week before the Panthers played them. Agree, throw out the Giants, but the rest is pretty dang funny. I doubt it has ever happened.

Put it this way...

If you include the Giants, the combined record of the Skins' opponents is 7-17, with 3 of those victories being against Washington.

If you leave out the Giants, the combined record is 2-17, with both victories coming against Washington.

Boy, is it fun living in the DC area with a front row seat at the circus!

Amen.

The Cowboys may be sucking it up right now too. Which in turn makes me a miserable football fan.

But, at least all the Foreskin fans around me are more miserable.

Go Chiefs!!!! Go Chiefs!!!! Go Chiefs!!!! Go Chiefs!!!!

You have to count the Giants game because the prior record keeping stats counted the first games.

But but but in the preseason all the Commanders fans I know told me they were going to be good this year.

Honestly -- yes. Go Chiefs. I want a complete disaster of a season. Only then might Cerrato get canned!

It's deeper than Cerrato. It's Snyder.

I'll be in DC at Fedex this weekend. A friends boss is a seson ticket holder for the Skins. He's so disgusted that he GAVE AWAY all the tickets for the rest of the year. We're talking 4 good seats each game. Asked why he didn't try and sell them, he said "Why would anyone pay to watch?"

My buddy is a die hard Chiefs fan, so we're going up to root on KC.

Yes!

I hope the chiefs bring some intensity That along with the loss of Samuals and their make shift line may make this a very winnable game for KC.

Nothing would be better in a bye week than to se the Skin's lose to another bottom feeder team. GO CHIEFS!

True. However, we can't fire Snyder can we?

I am hoping if there is an utter disaster of a season, Snyder will get a clue (highly unlikely -- but it's the only hope I have left) and will get someone who knows *** they are doing.

I think you're team is doing exactly what it should be. Stay this course.

I have little doubt that Snyder will continue to do things his way regardless of how bad things get. He's that kind of guy whose going to attempt to force his way to work just so he can say "I told you so."

It all comes down to money. Some fans are planning to wear black to the game on Sunday to raise awareness for the Boycott Snyder movement. We're coming at him from both sides. First, we are trying to put together a plan to raise money from the public to buy the Skins. If you're on twitter you can follow MervisDiamonds and letsbuytheskins to keep up to date on that. Second, we are trying to force Danny to sell the team by boycotting him. That means we don't buy any concessions or merchandise (but still go to the games and cheer loudly) and boycott the Commanders corporate sponsors. Will it work? Almost certainly not. But all we can do is try our best.

Edit: so apparantly, the NFL no longer allows public ownership. Frustrating. We'll just have to keep boycotting and sending the value of the franchise low enough that some other buyer will step in.
