Funny thing about the media

I see Emmit and various other media outlets have us winning 7 - 8 games.

Here is what bothers me about people that are PAID for their professional opinion.....go game by game and go on record with the 9 losses.

Which is why it is obvious to me they are just spouting off. If there are 9 losses on this schedule there is a LOT wrong with this ENTIRE organization.

But here is what is going to happen....we are going to beat Tampa. Then we are going to have a showdown with the NYG. Whose power rankings in variuous media outlets is top 5. When we BEAT them...the media is going to say "maybe the Giants were NOT that good to beging with" As opposed to, you know what, the Cowboys are still a top 10 team with or without TO

I remember this like yesterday fellow zoners. Going into Wades first year there were PLENTY of doubters. We won our first couple. Sunday night in Chicago against the defending NFC champions. Everyone just knew the bubble was about to burst. The Bears have STILL not recovered from the *** whupping we put on them. Their season was done after that game. But instead of the Cowboys are for real (we would go on to have the best record in the NFC).....we heard "the Bears must not be that good"...which to a degree was true. But make no mistake, they were "good" until we got a hold of them. And I still think Adam Archuletta's ears are ringing from trying to tackle Barber.

So appreciate and smirk at all the ridiculous remarks from the talking heads.

On a side note....how come our WR corps is a quesition, but the Giants isn't? How come DeSean Jackson (who I like) is now the BEST WR in the division? How come Eli is the BEST QB in the division? As a team some of these things may or may not be true. But if Eli was asked to do what Tony has done the last 2 years....the Giants would win 6 games. At the end of the day, the Giants won...and that is what really counts. But hey the Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2000....and no one all of a sudden thought Trent Dilfer was a top 10 QB!

If our defense goes into the season understanding that the offense is not going to outscore all of there 2 minutes left in the half laziness....if our special teams understands that our offense is not going to outscore their inability to cover punts and kicks...if our TEAM understands that our offense is not going to outscore all of the penalties. We will be a top 10 team easily. We have the talent on the defensive side of the ball to do it. We have the kicker/punter/special teams coach to do it. And we STILL have an offense that should score 24 points a game. So I feel no panic...just sitting back and laughing(mixed in with some venting)..at all the doubters.

And NO this did not deserve ANOTHER thread....but I felt like getting this off my chest...so I did!

I have been in an out this summer....I have told family and friends I was not going to invest as much emotionally as I have in the past. I just KNEW the results from last year took the wind out of my sail. But as Sunday draws near....I can feel it in my bones. As more and more talk about us being only 2 games better than the 5-11 Dave Campo years.....my ears begin to burn. This group has shown that we are at our best when no one thinks we will be any good. Not saying I like how emotionaly fragile this group is....but this is what works for this group....so let's do this.
