Well, here we are. Draft Eve. Thus, my final mock draft of 2021. This will also be a no trade mock. With that, here we go. You know how I normally do these by now.
1 (10). CB Jaycee Horn South Carolina
6'1" and 205 lbs. The player that I think is widely expected to be selected by us. Horn is a large, athletic defensive back who plays aggressive football. He displayed tremendous development in his game last season and has all the necessary tools to develop into a No. 1 cornerback on Sundays (PFN).
2 (44). S Richie Grant UCF
6'0" and 194 lbs. Grant is a solid safety in all aspects of the position and is effective covering the pass or defending the run. He comes with average size as well as speed, but he could line up in dime packages or as a traditional strong safety (PFN).
3 (75). OT Liam Eichenburg Notre Dame
6'6" and 302 lbs. Given the injuries to Tyron and La'el Collins last year. Tyron has been getting hurt a lot lately, and we've had great success with olinemen from Notre Dame. Good fit for us. As for the player himself, here's some analysis from PFN. Eichenberg is an imposing offensive lineman who gets the most from his ability and plays intelligent, intense football. He was productive and durable for Notre Dame and comes with growth potential. Additionally, he's a powerful run blocker.
3 (99). DT Tyler Shelvin LSU
6'3" and 346 lbs. From PFN: Shelvin is a traditional two-gap nose tackle whose size, power, and ability to consistently get leverage on opponents gives him the upper hand. He may be a little bit too large at this point and must adhere to year-round conditioning, but if he’s focused on football, Shelvin will have a long and productive career in the NFL.
4 (115). DE Elerson Smith Northern Iowa
6'6" and 252 lbs. From PFN: Smith is an athletic pass rusher who came to the Senior Bowl bigger as well as stronger and had three good days of practice. He's developing into a defensive end in a four-man line and comes with both growth potential and upside. Smith could be a pass-rush specialist early in his NFL career and eventually develop into a starter.
4 (138). WR Anthony Schwartz Auburn

6'1" and 179 lbs. You've seen my take on this player before. Lightning fast. Makes an excellent KR option as well as 5th option at WR.
5 (179) S Damar Hamlin Pittsburgh
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=497CUlC9mDE&t=147s
6'1" and 195 lbs. A prior feature to my mock drafts, and he's been rising the boards. Reminds me a lot of Roy Williams with his hitting ability. Unlike Roy Williams, he's got good hands and good coverage skills. Given that we only have Kazee for I think one season, Hamlin would be a good player to add here.
6 (192). CB Tre Brown Oklahoma
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDwaPF2AW34&t=3s
5'10" and 186 lbs. Excellent slot CB option and great speed to be a PR and KR. Gives us Schwartz, Brown, Wilson, Lamb, Pollard, and maybe even Horn as return options.
6 (227). LB Erroll Thompson Mississippi State
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etaV-_8BD9Q
6'1" and 250 lbs. From PFN: Thompson has the size, build, and style to be a run-stuffing inside linebacker at the next level. His game is a bit one-dimensional, so Thompson must stand out on special teams to make a roster.
We could certainly use a run stopping specialist.
7 (238). CB Deommodore Lenoir Oregon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0gEtaHWOMo&t=99s
5'11" and 194 lbs. From PFN: Lenoir is an underrated cornerback who was rarely challenged at Oregon due to his ability to shut down receivers. He possesses enough skills to start in nickel packages at the next level. Would battle with Anthony Brown.
With that, it's been such fun doing these mock drafts this year. I look forward to doing more mock drafts after next season. I hope you all have enjoyed seeing my mock drafts next year. With that, Go Cowboys! Can't wait to stream the draft, and then talk with you all about the aftermath, whatever it may be.
