It seems like we had an inordinate number of FAs this year. Who are key players up for FA the next couple of years? I suppose if you consistently draft well, the unintended consequence will be that you have key contributors whose contracts expire each year.

That and revitilizing FA pick ups. Most of the players we stand to lose this year are not draft picks of ours.

Parnell
Durant
McClain
Melton
Selvie
Hayden
Moore

None were drafted by us.

Tyrone Crawford will be the only impact player who is a FA after next season.

Maybe you can throw Claiborne into that group.

I think some of the guys we re-signed this year, only signed a 1 year deal. We may be going through this next year too. This is where the scouting department will look good or bad. We need some depth guys to step up.

Crawford has reached impact player status?

Just like every year there are FA on your team that will decide to move on for a bit more money.
These are paycheck "rent-a-playa" guys that move on after a couple of years because they
don't merit long term deals. We are going to lose our share of those mid-tier players this year
but, I guarantee you that the Cowboys will have a pretty well-defined list of other mid-tier
players who will be available in a week or two. The Cowboys will attempt to fill all their
holes with bridge players just before the draft. The draft is how great teams are built
for the future. Just relax and let the future unfold.

It means that, for the Cowboys, he's an impact player and possibly the only guy we'd worry about losing after next year.

I see. So every team in the league has at least one impact defensive lineman on the roster.

I knew you were using "impact" in a way I never knew before.

This is the best negativity you can come up with. You can do better than that. We expect more.:)

Sorry to break your heart but yes, Crawford is not a bust and was a good draft pick and played very well last year. The arrow is up for him. Don't worry. You and your sidekick still have Carr and Claiborne to kick around for a little bit longer. Other than those two, I don't know what else is left for you nabobs of negativity.

Cheer up. The draft is coming soon. You and your sidekick will then have lots of ammo to complain about. Such as player x being chosen one round early or something.

You're a good poster when you aren't being pedantic and annoying on purpose.

Would that make Crawford restricted after next season or no? Would be a good one to lock up early if unrestricted, etc.

Unless a long term extension gets agreed to, Dez Bryant will be an unrestricted free agent again next year and the team will use the franchise tag again.

He would have 4 full years, that would make him an UFA.

It will depend on how Tyrone Crawford's contract was written.

He missed the entire 2013 season by getting injured on the first day of training camp that year. The contract may have included a split salary in the event Crawford was injured during the off-season or training camp and missed a full season.

If there was a split, Crawford would not accrue a season of service towards free agency that year and would be a RFA after this season.

If there wasn't a split, he will be an UFA after this season.

Also Claiborne, Mincey, Bern and Brent
