Garrett has a lot of details to pay attention to. I wonder how long the cadence issue has been going on. its clear as day on the replays that the Commanders DT lined up over Costa's right shoulder was doing the barking. you can see him tense his entire upper body several times right before the ball comes back to Romo. This scuttled drive after drive.

Its interesting to see a game like that progress. By the end of the third quarter both sides had figured out the other's snap count but used it to different effects. I don't have issue with their dlinmen doing that. Its gamesmanship and you try and get every edge you can. I am just glad we figured it out at the end.

We on the other hand just started teeing off on the ball. The refs have adjusted to DWare on this as well at least Hoculi's crew. Jaws may have been surprised offsides wasnt called but the ball clearly was snapped and Ware was just the first one to react. That last sack by Spencer was from him just exploding off the ball upfield to seal the game.

Bennett put in two uninspired plays. The fade had him up against a guy he outweighed by almost 100 pounds so he passively approaches the corner of the endzone? Run right up on top of him and turn around. He was over 5 yards off the los and had no chance.

When he grabbed the jersey I thought he did a halfassed job doing what the Broncos olinemen are obviously taught to do. They reach up and grab your shoulderpads and lock onto them. Thats why you see our edge rushers constantly being twisted as they make their moves. They have a hold of something. Bennett's focus is all over the place.

I can understand why teams hate the Bronco's playstyle. its effective but its more of a gimmick to win rather than winning a one on one battle. Cannot blame them doing whatever they can to win.

Our pass protection was much better. People want to malign Free after a rough start but Orakpo is very, very physically gifted and was playing with such effort to win those battles that he didn't make it through the third quarter. Free may have lost a few battles but there at the end he was stonewalling guys when Commanders defenders were clearly looking steamed. Its was a handful of bad snaps out of three dozen passes. I would like better play but he was far from a problem.

Our runs in the second half that went larger were great play design. I loved seeing the draw back and the play was set up with Felix running through that hole on a pass play. That weird looking counter fooled the Commanders LB. They both went after Fiametta who pancaked one while the other took him out of the play trying to get a hit on him. Felix's wheels are in good shape at least.

Dez Bryant could only play a few plays at a time. He could rest the injury for ten minutes and get a couple snaps and then it was Otree and Robinson and three TE sets. It was a good thing that he was in there at the end. That blitz read where he actually crossed the face of the defender which Otree failed to do earlier in the game.

Otree looked physically overmatched early, uncertain what he was supposed to do in the middle and came up big late. I agree with Romo when he says you have to like how the guys kept grinding. This team has character.

This is the type of game that can humble a guy into perspective. I don't think its ever been more in focus how important preparation is that it was for Otree in those three hours. Hopefully he picks up on it because after three years here the show he put on was perplexing. He is going to have to master the mental part of the game if he is ever going to go anywhere in this league.

Laurent Robinson made a few plays but it was obvious that they would pull him out coach him up and then send him back out there. He produced which was very nice.

It was pretty clear that adrenaline is what got Romo going. At certain point in the second quarter it was obvious that he could take hits and it wasnt affecting him beyond making him grimace. I stopped worrying about him. i just hope that he continues to wear the vest going forward.

Another game, another los dominated by Rob Ryan's defense. Hatcher getting hurt ws only a matter of time but Coleman, Spears and Lissemore. Coleman plays smart, Spears is just a powerful man and Lissemore brought a spin move that was effective a time or two. They combined with Rat and the rest of the front seven to get the Broncos to abandon the run game and be able to tee off.

Dware was giving the offense fits. If you get a chance go back and watch the last couple of defensive series and watch how the entire line reacts as he moves around the formation. Its absolutely fun watch an opposing OT flinch as he sees Ware switch sides to line up. False starts, missed assignments and confusion are the result.

And how about the Cowboys stadium crowd? I cannot remember the last time I saw our crowd influence a game like that.

Sean Lee has found his physical niche and is playing great football. Last year he would go into scrums and come out wincing and limping. I do not know if its preparation or approach but you don't see that anymore. Goes a long way towards confidence for his ability to last the season.

i would like to know who missed the assginment on the TD. Don't know if it was a DB or ILB (Brooking) but someone did not even react to his move out to the left until the ball was in the air.

Newman and Jenkins can play NFL corner. Sensabaugh was active.

I will also never again question DeCammillis. What a turnaround. One thing is that guys like Harris, Holley, and Church were not very involved in the offensive and defensive game plans. it seems to me that DeCam very well may have been given more time to work with all of them.

Harris in particular looked proficient catching kicks and punts. He did not get a lot of room but I don't worry at all about him fielding the kicks now. Hopefully he can return better than Crayton did.

Solid coverage all around though with vets making plays as well as the younger guys. Elam can still cover kicks.

I still like this particular team a lot.

Surprisingly solid post.

Dallas has to get better at finishing drives.

I don't feel good about our scoring chances unless it comes from a big play.

Actually I think it's been stated ad nauseam that doing this is a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (if the refs catch it anyway).

Which is the risk they took. It almost won them the game if not for Dez digging deep for that last drive. I don't have a problem with it.

Nice critical assessment of Ogletree without ripping into him.

Sucks about Hatcher, tho. He was playing beastly..

good post but you know we didnt play the broncos right?

You don't see what he did there?

i didnt know if he did it on purpose or brain farted because of the shanny connection

What's clear about the cadence issue is Stephen Bowen did some talking.

What a bush league move by the Commanders.
