FWST Blog: Bennett - Walking the talk

I thought everybody wanted to cut him after two weeks of training camp. Where did all that talk go. LMAO:lmao2::lmao2:

wow all he has to impress is mr. jones and his teammates.

that is interesting seeing that none of them have input on his playing time or are tracking his improvement and helping it.

THis is why jerry needs to be quiet about players. Talk about them all he wants from march to june. WHen camp starts he should just be quiet because its the football people's time to be speaking on ability and progress.
He's been quoted other times mentioning coaches. The nitpicking and dogpiling on this guy is getting rediculous.

I am not dogpiling. He happens to be the topic of the day and week that is all. I am not a part of the silly cut him or trade him crowd. I just think he needs an attitude adjustment. Thats all. Its just important to say the right things as it is to do them, imo.

I am pulling for the guy. I was happy we drafted another tight end. I think tight ends do alot for a team. They play tight end and fullback, they play on all the special teams units and usually they play on all the goalline formations.

So if you can find a big one who has the potential to block, catch and run like bennet does I am a happy guy. I just hope bennet changes his attitude.

I found it to be disrespectful to the team and coaches and can be a troubling thing down the road.

he's right though. that *is* how people are. see something they don't like, OFF WITH THEIR HEAD! if jones is happy, why are we so worried? he sees him all day long. we just say a few quips on a tv reality show.

no one i've read yet is saying that bennett doesn't need to grow up some. but all the over-reactionaries kill me.

Absolutely!

I just hope I am never on trial for anything but if I am I pray to God that no one from the sky is falling club is a jury member.

and why do you not like him? cause of a couple of seconds on tv designed to get a reaction?

so the kid has to grow up some. not like he's the only one in life to ever face such adversity.

There have been other quotes where he mentioned the coaches. He just didn't mention them in this one. Lots of nitpicking going on with this guy.

From my perspective, on the day HK episode aired, Archer noted Bennett had his best practice yet...and per some other reports, he's followed it up with other solid practices.

I guess because camp is going so smoothly and there aren't a whole lot of position battles, we've gotta debate something on this board...might as well be a rookie's slow transition to the NFL.

That's the way it looks.

As far as body language goes, one can read into it and get whatever they want out of it. Saying that, I remember Charles Oakley of the New York Knicks had similar body language as Bennett's. As we all know about Mr. Oakley is that he brought it every night despite his lack of pure basketball skill.

All I am saying is give the kid a break and let's see if he performs when the light shines on him.

Enablers. Count em, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...

Thank god none of you are in charge of getting this kid's head out of his arse.

Very interesting.

It's almost as if Bennett is complaining about the very country which afforded him the opportunity to play a game that we all love and for which he gets paid millions of dollars.

I will refrain from any political parallels (as obvious as they may be).

However, I do get extremely upset with professional athletes who fail to appreciate how truly blessed they are to be paid incredible amounts of money to play a boyhood game. They are living the American dream, doing what they love, and are financially succeding.

You would think that all athletes at that level would wake up every day thankful for the opportunity that awaits them, and would see criticism in the press as a small price to pay for living a life to which millions aspire!

Sorry - that one hit a nerve!

I could whine all day about rich people born into money but who cares, life isn't fair. We aren't talented like they are therefore no one's going to pay us squat to play this game.

Let's not get jealous because we're average and they are superior, it's been going on through-out history, and lazy kids with talent's been going on as well, they're just not covered by hard knocks.

Breathe man.....

You're only an enabler if your opinion or actions directly affect a person's actions.

Not one opinion on this board, good, bad, or indifferent will affect Bennett's play, therefore no one is enabling him.

I think it would be fair to say that everyone on here hopes he gets it together and plays well in the upcoming season.

It's just that some are not as concerned as others and the reasons for that have been discussed ad nauseum.

Me too. I pray ever day that these athletes know how lucky they are and our way of life is preserved for posterity and stuff.

Those who sneer at our values are the ones who have none!
