Felix Jones breaks Bradie James' ankle

It was a linebackers dream. Bradie James broke through the line and had his sights set on running back Felix Jones. But with one cut, Jones was gone through the hole and James was left grasping at air.
It was almost like a defender in basketball getting shook by one of Allen Iverson's famed cross over moves. Suffice it to say, Jones will probably embarrass a few more defenders this season. At least the Cowboys hope so.

Gurode gimpy

Center Andre Gurode sat out a few plays after going down with an apparent leg injury. But after getting looked at by the trainers and letting the pain subside, he returned to the lineup.

Stanback setback

Receiver Isaiah Stanback came to the Cowboys injured in 2007 and has seemingly been in and out of the lineup with something ever since. He has shoulder surgery after 2007 season and he was put on injured reserve last season following shoulder surgery. He then had surgery in May repair a meniscus tear.
He came to camp this year hoping to put some of the injury issues behind him and prove that he can finally be a contributor. The Cowboys have hopes for him as well, possibly as a fourth or fifth receiver and a quarterback in the wildcat offense.
Of course, he has to prove he can stay healthy _ which is why Wade Phillips said on Wednesday that this was a make or break year for Stanback.
Two days later he is missing time in practice with an injured hamstring. If he's out too long, it was most certainly be break time for Stanback.

Quick injury report

This is just a quick add:
Michael Hawkins (bruised patella) isn't out here this morning, we'll see if he returns for the afternoon session. Same for Isaiah Stanback, and we're not sure what his injury is at the moment. Sure we'll hear something when Wade Phillips talks later this afternoon between workouts.

Stanback not practicing

Wide receiver Isaiah Stanback is not practicing this morning. He's dressed in his navy blue shorts and shirt and just walking around at the moment. Can't be good.

Chris Cooley blog

Apparently, the Washington Commanders tight end Chris Cooley had some fun at the Cowboys' (namely Jason Witten and Tony Romo's) expense. An old clip, but if you're all interested, here's the link to it.

Happy birthday, Bobby Carpenter

Bobby Carpenter celebrates his 26th birthday today, and the fans in the north end zone serenaded him with their rendition of "Happy Birthday" just now. Very nice, and (somewhat surprisingly) very melodic!
We'll be starting Day 4 here momentarily.

Too much? :laugh2:

I was trying to give an idea of what was in the thread..

Or maybe you're talking about the Felix headline.. lol

Another reason I didn't post that blurb by itself.

Carpenter was feeling saucy on his bday apprently. He was all over the place making hits.

I think the author was confused. I didn't see Gurode go out. I saw Flozell sit out a few plays with some sort of leg issue. Free joined the first team.

Felix is amazing. I'll post more on that later when I'm not posting froma a phone

the Bradie James breaks ankle headline. I suppose Clarence Hill had a purpose for writing it like that; it definetly got my attention.

Not exactly true. Wade was asked if this was a make or break year for Stanback and he said that it was a make or break year for a lot of guys.

Stick a fork in Stanback...

I'm afraid that appears to be true finally. You are what you are. And Stanback is a guy who watches from the sidelines. Good luck to him, and maybe he can become the next Jimmy Smith.

Yeah that first story scared the hell out of me.

Same! They shouldn't write headlines like that - bad for the heart!

Is that an expression from the 1920s or something?

it's still applicable today

but it's more reserved for talking about drunk people

I think he meant "sassy," but that would make Carp even more of a limp-wristed homo.
