The transition of the last week was likely hardest of Cowboys assistant Wes Phillips, who feels about his dad getting fired but yet has to work under interim head coach Jason Garrett.

Garrett said the younger Phillips is a valued member of the staff.

“Wes is one of the great assets of this staff," Garrett said. "He’s been my right hand man for the last three years. He just does an outstanding job. He knows football. He likes football. He’s one of those guys who is always ahead of things and helps me immensely that way. He sees the game, he understands and can coach different positions. He’s really a huge asset for us."

I'm sure it is but he understand the nature of the business being around it his whole life. Heck even Wade became an interim HC when his dad Bum Phillips was fired in New Orleans.

Great point.

I think it helps to realize that 99% of coaches will be fired at some point. Its WHEN, not IF.

"It's not you, it's me." :muttley:

How wird would it be if in 2011 Garrett is the HC and Wes Phillips is the OC? :laugh2:
