FWST Blog: Jerry Jones on 105.3... Flozell/Felix/Barber

than he's a fragile rb. also Felix has been a backup rb since he college. he's not used to getting that many carries. hell the guy can't handle 8 and the coaches wanted to give him 25+! that's just stupid. Choice carried the load in college so he's used to getting a lot of carries.
Why do I bother?

he was a back up.
Wrong. At times he did backup McFadden, but Arkansas ran a 2 back set and even some wishbone with Peyton Hillis. They called their formation the Wildhog and McFadden usually took the direct snaps. He was not a backup, he was a very big part of that Offense.

He was still a back up. Dmac was the starter got the majority of the carries. Kind of like JJ and Mb3 except Felix doesn't run as hard ad Mb3.

:laugh2:

You go kid. Keep on deluding yourself. Moose Johnston had fewer carries than Emmitt, I guess that made him a backup too. Judas Priest, I actually watched Arkansas games. I was a big time McFadden supporter thinking Cleveland was going to suck.

Did we not explain that Felix and DMac were both on the field at the same time.

A lot of Felix's carries were on handoffs from DMac.
he wasn't the primary back.

I think it's funny how people were screaming for felix to be the primary back, and now they think he can't be trusted to carry the load.

From week to week reality shouldn't change, but for some it seems to.

I think Jones' biggest problem is that he doesn't "prepare" for the tackle. Almost every tackle is him landing awkwardly on the ground at high speed.

I think as a runningback there is an art to getting tackled and falling and some players do it better than others. I think we'll see him injured throughout his career if we try to use him more than 8-10 plays in a game.

If Felix can't handle but only 8 to 10 plays a game, this was a wasted pick.

That doesn't make him a backup.
it basically does. I know he was on the field a decent amount with McFadden but Dmac was the #1 rb. Felix was #2 on the depth chart also known as the backup.

Sometimes, when I read what Jerry has to say... I just sit and wonder what planet Jerry is from.

Why are his sentences so incredibly hard to understand?

Reality changes from nano-second to nano-second. That's how everyone rolls...wether they know it or not?

Why is this a big dispute? Felix was a backup (if you look at carries) as well as an intregal part of the Arkansas offense. It all depends on how you look at his role.

It sux he appears to be so injury prone. No question, the guy is dynamic. He just has to say healthy, if he can. :(
