No Players at Jerry's House

A report last month by YahooSports.com had a handful of players visiting Jerry Jones at his Dallas home to talk about Terrell Owens.

Throw me in the shocked lot because Jones never, ever has players over at the house. The only time I've ever hard of a player visiting Jerry Jones' home was Emmitt Smith. And there is no Emmitt Smith on this roster.

Jones flatly denied the story.

"I’d like to see anybody that’s come over to my house to come over to visit about our roster. Another player. That hasn’t happened," he said. "Haven’t been near my house to visit about another player on this roster. I've heard that speculated that I've had players come over and talk about."

I'm not inclined to believe many denials from teams, GMs, etc., but given the fact Jones is not one to open his house to current players I buy this one.

I thought it was strange that some yahoo writer at the pro bowl came out with that story and nobody in Dallas or anywhere else. Not surprised it was crap.

So, why were the players there then? To discuss other topics but Owens crept into the conversation or to discuss players on other rosters?

You know, a number of members in here that are terminally critical of Jerry Jones jump on just about any negative news snippet or source and tee off on Jerry as if the reports were the absolute truth.
Then as they typically turn out to be bogus, and subsequent associated reports are more in proportion, the same exuberant critics don't post squat about overreacting let alone being wrong.

I know why that is the case, though. The overriding agenda is to keep tearing Jones down any opportunity you get while at the same time posturing objectivity.

*Shrugs* Who cares? This wasn't much of a story to believe to begin with.

And it cracks me up the people who celebrate so much, being right on a 50/50 proposition. It's not like you did anything noteworthy, picking the opposite side of a "Did players go out there or didn't they" debate.

It's like celebrating big time cause you called tails and the coin came up tails.
