All aboard for San Diego
Friday, the Cowboys will have a final walk-through at 10:45 a.m. and head for the train station. The team will be taking a Amtrak train from Oxnard south to San Diego. We will be there to get you a taste of what this is like on this blog.
Jerry Jones decided on taking having the team travel via train before the Hard Knocks deal was struck. But the producers sure are thankful for making a storyline for them.

Oxnard Observation Deck: Rehearsal time
Rehearsal says it all. That's what the Cowboys did on Thursday as they prepare for the Chargers on Saturday and the practice also ended early. Remember, Wade Phillips is not going to overwork his team.
Players of the day: DE Chris Canty and NT Jay Ratliff. Not for performance but for look. They both wore black shades to practice and wore them on the sidelines. They had a little Blues Brothers thing going and they kept hanging side-by-side everywhere on the field.
Light observation deck: Actor Don Diamont was today's celebrity on the sidelines with his family. He's a star on The Young and the Restless soap opera playing Brad Carlton....Super agent Drew Rosenhaus was also attended practice.
More goofing: Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton playing for the Hard Knocks cameras on the sidelines so bored with practice they took up entertaining.

Jerry's take on Hard Knocks
Jerry is going with a thumbs up on Hard Knocks. As is Wade Phillips, but the coach didn't see it all yet. And by the way, how many people did he tell about Pacman's ability to catch six punts holding all the balls?
But Jones didn't feel the protrayal of RB Keon Lattimore was fair. He has actually had a pretty decent camp but was made to look like he has been errible.
"He's have a better camp than it was protrayed," Jones said.

How much will starters play?
If you looking to see the Cowboys stars on Saturday night against San Diego, you better catch the first quarter and the first 2-3 drives. The Cowboys starters are likely to only get 12-15 plays before it becomes a showcase of backups fighting to win jobs.
Jerry Jones pinpointed a few players he will really keep an eye on Saturday night in San Diego -- Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Isaiah Stanback and Miles Austin.

Bennett has personal emergency
wiCowboys owner Jerry Jones said rookie TE Martellus Bennett was dealing with a personal emergency that kept him out of practice on Thursday. Jerry said Bennett was on the phone 4-5 hours taking care of a problem (nothing legal, Jerry says) and has nothing to with anything physical. The practice was a reheasal for Saturday's game.
"He really couldn't even take a break to come out here and stand and practice,'' Jerry said. "He had to stay right on top of it."
Bennett will travel with the team Friday and play against San Diego.

No interest in Chad Pennington
Don't count on the Cowboys giving ex-Jets quarterback Chad Pennington a look. The team has no interest in the veteran, who was released Thursday after the Jets traded for Brett Favre.
The Cowboys appear set to stick with Brad Johnson as the No. 2 quarterback behind Tony Romo.
