T.O: Philly is in the past

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was in the headlines recently for comments he made about Terrell Owens. McNabb talked about Owens maturing in Dallas, while lamenting that it could have been good for both of them if things had worked out in Philadelphia.
Owens is wondering why he's even in McNabb's mind, as he put Philadelphia in the past a long time ago.
"I love my situation here," Owens said after practice on Wednesday. "Other than that, things that happened in Philly happened three years ago. I don't know what the deal is with me being in the news from (McNabb). I am happy here. I am scoring touchdowns. I have scored as many touchdowns in just as many games with Tony Romo as I did with them. I don't know what the problem is."

Here, let me finish that for you with a hearty::hammer:

Im glad to see T.O. isnt being suckered in by the media this time around.

Before I go ahead and use your hammer lol

It quite obvious where this stems from:

  1. Donovan had a Superstar WR
  2. Donovan couldnt deal - Tony can
  3. Philly coundt make it work - Dallas can
THAT is killing the Eagles and their fans.

Now where is that hammer... oh yeah.... what he said \/ \/ \/ :laugh2:

:moon: McNabb is a crybaby. Look, McNabb's comments are indirectly at the Eagles, wanting play makers and Owens is missed.

Yes, Donovan, it could've been great for you and T.O.

And right now, it currently IS great for Tony and T.O.

But no worries. Enjoy... Reggie Brown? Hank Baskett? DeSean Jackson?

Ha!

That makes me happy to read.

I was curious about just how successful T.O. has been with Romo vs. McNabb.

He has played 27 games with Romo as the starter (including playoffs). His numbers in those games are...

144 catches, 2235 yards, 24 TDs.

Averaged out to a 16 game season... 85.3 catches, 1324.4 yards, 14.2 TDs.

T.O. played 22 games with McNabb as his starter (including Super Bowl).

Total numbers are 133 catches, 2085 yards, 20 TDs.

Averaged out to a 16 game season... 96.7 catches, 1516.4 yards, 14.5 TDs.

So he actually did perform a little better overall with McNabb. But as we all know, Parcells hand-cuffed us a bit in 2006 and 2007 was his first year with Garrett. I see a career year for T.O. in '08.

Also, Parcell's seemingly call a very vanilla offense...despite his available talent. McNabb never had a #2 receiver like Glenn, or a TE like Witten, either. The QB/TO relationship is far better here than it was in Philly, on and off the field IMO.

good post, the Eagles run a WCO, so that kind of skews the numbers a bit

I think w/ the 2 having TO, that their YPA were about the same, yet McNabb was never nearly as accurate, I don't think, w/ TO, and his offense was more advantageous to completing passes
