Rules! Rules! Rules!

Sorry it's been a while, but the Broncos don't allow live blogging from practice. And no cell phones on the practice field either, which means I will have to delay my phone calls to Raiders boss Al Davis and Chiefs GM Carl Petersen on what I saw from the Broncos today in the first practice with the Cowboys.
I was wearing my red, Tiger Woods-collection golf shirt as well as my very official looking yellow media credential - Chiefs colors. Apparently someone on the Broncos staff thought I was with the Chiefs.
Little do they know I'm actually a highly-paid spy for the Chargers.
And this is what I saw: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is one of the best in the league. He's so good he really doesn't have to practice. He was held out of Tuesday's action because of ... something hamstring related. My gut tells me he's being held out because of indifference.

Looks like Shanahan inherited at least something from Al Davis during his brief stint with the Raiders -- paranoia.

my gut tells me he doesn't want to be embarrased by TO again, like he was this time last year.

I don't blame Shanahan. He doesn't know these Dallas writers and just when you think stuff like that won't happen, Spygate rears its ugly head again. Unfortunately, Mac Engel isn't bright enough to put that together and would rather just pout over it.

When in Rome ...

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan is a dictator compared to Wade Phillips.
Not only does he control his own team, but he controls the media.
Like blogging and cell phones are not allowed on the practice field by anybody, which was a shock to various media covering the Cowboys.
There were several of us who uttered, "what are they going to do to us if we use the phone?". But the Broncos are serious. Cowboys vice president Jerry Jones Jr. got a warning for using his cell phone on the practice field.
When in Rome, you have to do as the Romans.
