Sorry if you wanted Luke McCown as Romo's backup

If you were hoping the Cowboys went after Bucs unrestricted free agent quarterback Luke McCown, forget it. McCown re-signed with Tampa Bay on Monday. McCown, who is from Jacksonville, Texas, has played in 12 NFL games and started seven.

The Cowboys will likely re-sign backup Brooks Bollinger, who is an unrestricted free agent and has started 10 career games. Brad Johnson, who dropped to third string and has lost all effectiveness, is signed through 2009 but will likely be released.

I'm fine with Bollinger. I just wonder if they'll add someone else too?

I'm sure they're going to add someone else that they'll probably like better than Brooks.

I'm not hurt that McCown isn't that guy though. I'm not a fan of him anyway.

I would like the Cowboys to draft a young guy in the later rounds maybe a Bhomar lots of talent but needs to be groomed a few years or a Matt Moore from a few years ago that the Panthers are now grooming.

Those guys can sometimes be turned into draft picks

I was more interested in Josh as a backup of the two McCown brothers. He got traded to Carolina so I doubt he's a UFA.

Norm and Gosselin both liked Luke McCown a lot, said he would be a good fit here.
