T Newman Ready
Terence Newman likes to make him scarce if/when he's hurt. But I grabbed him for a second or two today and he said if the season was starting today he could play.
"The stuff I'm doing now is harder than practice," Newman said in regards to the workouts and conditioning he's completing.
Newman has been out for the past few weeks with a groin injury. But he said he feels strong and would like to play soon. He's doubtful to play in Friday night's preseason home opener against the Texans, but he could awlays play in the final fake football game.
Either way, barring an unexpected setback or a different injury, expect Newman in the starting lineup for the season opener in Cleveland.
Also, Newman said he will be returning to his alma mater, Kansas State University, for the Wildcats' season-opener against North Texas on Aug. 30. No, he's not a big fan of the Mean Green.
"They're going to put me in the ring of honor," Newman said.
He's not kidding. People might forget that Newman was a bad, bad man when he played for Bill Snyder's Wildcats back in the day.
