Ware loses title
DeMarcus Ware led the NFL with 20 sacks last season. He was trying to become the first player to have 20 or more sacks in back-to-back seasons since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. But he came up 9 short of that.

Ware also lost his sack title. He had 11 sacks to finish tied for seventh. Broncos outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil led the league with 17.

"It did [hurt to give it up]," Ware said. "But the thing is he’s a really good player, and it’s really deserving for him."

Ware still is expected to make the All-Pro team.

A Superbowl title would be sweeter anyways. Besides, Dumervil has to watch the playoffs from home. LMAO

Ware's season was pretty much derailed (if you can call it that) from the very start with that hit he took in Tampa

even through that and other various set-backs (being stretchered out for one), he still managed a damn good season

Elvis Dumervil had a pot belly at the allstar game he played in his senior year.

He played with a broken hand, foot, and a severely strained neck most of the year.

Ware at 100% will be a 15+ sack guy every single year, getting chipped, doubled, and protection constantly slid his direction is the reason his numbers went down.

I agree the injuries took a toll this year.

He was a little quiet on Sunday, though mostly blocked one-on-one. We'll need more from him Saturday night-------------And I think he'll have a big game.

Ware is not going to probably get another 20+ sack season in his career. I would love it, but teams just know better than to not double and chip him constantly now.

Plus, the fact that we also have Ratliff and Spencer is coming into his own means that when teams game plan us, their passing game is a lot of 3 step drops because they fear our rush. Now when we get teams down by a lot of points and they have to try to throw it downfield, sure, he's going to pile up a lot of sacks, but I just wouldn't count on another 20+ season.

As long as Spencer and the Rat keep it up, Ware will get around 15 a season.

To think that we drafted Montavious Stanley because his double teams were what got Dumervil free for so many sacks.
:banghead:
Bye Ireland, don't let that 2006 draft smack you in the *** on the way out.

Parcells drafts people based on the color of their skin (favoring white), their last name (preferring Italian), and whether or not he knows their father (preferring yes, such as Bobby Carpenter).

I mentioned it before the season, but guys who get 20 sacks typically drop down into the low teens the next season, for many reasons. Ware got off to a slow start, had numerous nagging injuries and ended up with a low sack/pressure ratio. But you know you're special when 11 sacks is considered somewhat of a disappointment.

Do you even know what it is that you try to talk about?

A lot of your posts are characteristically ignorant but c'mon

And Spencer playing much, much, better will help him out a lot too.
