It's been official for quite some time. He's just adding to that section of the resume now.

Now, even his deluded defenders can't deny the obvious...

You know Salty, I think if I were Jennifer Floyd Engel that I would just have the names on the bar tab changed now...

Bear, who couldn't agree now?

By the bye, how is your annual preparations on the draft coming along? I'll really look forward to this year's rendition of that annually cherished event...

Randy is senile. The fact that he still has a following in the Dallas Fort Worth area is the biggest wort on the face of that area's reputation in my opinion.

Well it is probably a year too early, but QB is the most important position in today's NFL and anything can happen to Romo. We can't just ignore the position and assume we will be fine like we did with Aikman.

Romo isn't a spring chicken anymore, sure the great ones can last longer but we have to have a backup plan in place right now and not expect to just get lucky at the position again like we did with Romo.

Great organizations plan ahead, average organizations rebuild.

We can draft one next year, there is no way you take Newton if your the Cowboys with the 9th pick.

Well it does also depend on free agency, but I see your point. I'm just saying its not totally nuts to be thinking QB, whether its Cam or not. Consistently good teams have consistency at QB and don't just start rebuilding as soon as their guy retires or starts to decline, look at the Pack and Philly.

I don't wanna be like the countless teams that suck after their franchise QB is gone, plan ahead. If the organization is that high on Cam, and there is noone else there that makes sense except for a huge reach.....I mean who here wants an Ekuban or Pittman disaster.

BPA on our board, don't reach for anyone that early in the draft. Some can assume a trade down, but we would still need someone who would trade with us....thats not a given. Cause of Luck and others staying in school, I can see this draft not working out the way we want.......we really have to be prepared for anything.

Yea, Green Bay use to take one about every three years and then trade them away for more draft picks. You saw how fast they returned to the Lombardi count didn't you?

Swear to God, if we pick Cam, I'm jumping in my car and hunting people down. Randy first, Jerry next, then whoever brought the card with his name to the commish.

I would jump in my car then drive myself off a cliff.

Galloway is stupid and wants attention. What else is new?

And, Wood, Tony Romo is an elite QB. And judging even a QB by a team record in a very limited sample--the includes games where he played very well--is just silly. Nobody's going to buy it.

Well yeah, I have seen that they have had one losing season since 1991. Now how many have we had in that same time period......I don't wanna think about it.

So compare the number of Super Bowls won by each team in the same time period.
:lmao2:

Which, :lmao: no seriously, I can't breath, :lmao2: which one do you think, holy crap....:laugh2: which one do you think Green Bay would rather have?
:lmao: :lmao:

We've got a whole lot of winning seasons...:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Or we've got three Super Bowls....:lmao:

OMG, it's killing me, killing me I tell ya.

Romo most likely won't stay injury free, let alone play for THAT much longer. Maybe thinking for the future in these terms wouldn't be the worst thing to do.

Not to mention, a QB with a high pedigree, sometimes not starting, is actually the best thing. The bust rate lowers. 2-3 years down the road without a bust hanging over his head, can still be worth a 1st round pick via trade. Which, very realistically, could be to a lesser team with a higher draft pick.

A move like this could literally benefit us in the long run in a multitude of ways. 1) Insurance against injury to Romo. 2) Possible franchise replacement if Romo's window proves to be shorter rather than longer. 3) And, if #2 doesn't happen, quality trade bait for another top pick to repeat the process all over again.

Honestly, I think we're naive not to have a true potential replacement at our single most valuable position, whether he be viewed and cared for as Romo's eventual replacement or not.

Sitting behind Romo, nobody ever truly seeing him, Brady Quinn, would be worth a top 10 pick today, regardless of the reality of his ability. We very easily could have gotten him for a 22 at the time and come out of it with a top 10 this year. Combined with the pick we already have, that could realistically translate into a top 3 pick this upcoming draft or 2 top 10 picks.

And in today's NFL with the likes of Romo, Rodgers and a handful of other QBs, the prospect of someone being "groomed" the right way is a very in flavor. Hell, a team could even mislead the rest of the league for a couple years on the progress, and take advantage of this. That's why I say even a Quinn could be worth something, even though in reality he's not. But...people only know that because he was thrown to the wolves so quickly in Cleveland.

Anyway, if someone is sitting there and is clearly BPA, I say take him. Especially at this position, where reality is often construed.

This is the worst idea ever..I'd rather draft Alex Henery

Spot on Randy. *If Cam falls to #9, I find it hard to believe that he won't be the best player available at that time. *There is not one single player in the draft that puts us in next year's Superbowl. *We already have loads of talent on this team and yes I include Mike Jenkins in that discussion. *Scandrick's progress this offseason will help us to not have to draft a CB in the first round. *Let's see if he is ready to supplant Newman as the starter. *DL, Safety, O-Line and LB can be addressed beyond Round 1. *Also, when all else fails, how about coaching up the players you already have? *Isn't that what the best teams do? *Grab Cam, let him learn under Romo, Kitna and Garrett, then in 3-4 years, we won't be looking like the fools we were once Aikman had to retire. Get 'er done Jerry!

I'm predicting the odds of Dallas drafting Newton at #9 around 3%. Anything's possible, but the chance that Jerry Jones will agree with this presumption is approximately non-existent in my opinion.

I don't know about the Rodgers comparison. He was snagged at 24 (I think) by the Packers after he was considered a top 10 from what I remember. Comparing Rodgers to Dez would be a more accurate in that line of thinking of a player sliding down. To me, with Favre up there in age the Rodgers pick was a no brainer.

And yeah, Green Bay used to draft QB's and trade them away a few years later. Of course, they were grabbing these guys in 5th or 6th round not the 1st.

Barring a major injury, the Cowboys should easily have 2 more years before they really need to draft a QB to groom for 3 years or so. Until then, build up the rest of the team with some talented youth. Heck, if Romo can play at a high level until he's 40 you have 4 years. Keep picking up some late round prospects (like a Brunnell or Hasselbeck) and maybe you hit the lottery with one.

When I read the title, I thought for sure it was Cam Jordan.

However after reading the article...I think Randy was just trolling and man did he get a bunch of nibbles on the line and looks to have set the hook on a few.
