FWST: Decision to pass on Jackson in 2004 could haunt Dallas

actually he isnt...he's a good player, but one who's vastly overrated by people on here....he isnt THAT good, nor is what we have THAT bad

Jackson is not Walter Payton, Earl Campbell or Emmitt Smith, but some folkds on here act like he's those three guys wrapped into one or something

David

WHAT? He had one of the most productive seasons by a RB, EVER! He's a beast!

We passed on Tom Brady but I don't see everyone getting upset about that.

Let it go.......GOOSEFRABA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :laugh2:

I would think that you know that's just a slightly different situation.

We needed a RB. Jackson was the top rated back.

Jackson...Platter...Hello...Take him.

We still had Aikman and didn't know that he was going to retire after that year...Hell we traded two # 2's for Galloway to help Aikman.

Brady wasn't even close to being the top rated QB.

And we were only one year away from getting our real QB of the future...

Quincy Carter.:D

Anyone ever think that what JJ is saying now might have a bit of truth to it? I DO believe that Parcells was over-coaching Jones until he couldn't think straight....or thinking too much might be a better way to put it.
I have a good feeling about Julius this year. Phillips has a way of getting the most out of his players, and Jones is already excited about the change in the HC position.
Even if JJ sucks, though, you people need to get over it. There are always going to be times when we get the worst of a deal. There are always going to be times when we make a steal of a deal. Can anyone say Herschel Walker? How about getting MBIII & Canty in the 4th rd.?

Besides, do you really think Jackson would have those kinds of numbers playing in our system? The Rams have a unique system that caters to RBs having huge all-purpose numbers. It's no coincidence that Marshall Faulk led the league in all-purpose yards for a number of years playing for the Rams. The Cowboys just don't throw the ball to the RB as much as the Rams, so JJ will NEVER have the kind of numbers Jackson has.
