Dez makes great catch
It was a flea flicker, and the running back dropped the ball to disrupt the play. Jon Kitna was flushed a little, but made the right move: He chunked the ball down the left sideline toward Dez Bryant. Bryant was tightly covered by Bryan McCann, who also had safety help. The ball was a little high, but Bryant jumped, tipped it back to himself, and, as he was falling to the ground, hauled it in with his left hand.

"I knew I had to come back down [the field] for the quarterback, because I saw him rush out of the pocket," Bryant said. "I just went back to the ball and tried to catch it the best way I could. I tipped it to myself."

There was some debate about whether he was in bounds when he gained control of the ball.

"I think so. I think I did," Bryant said when asked if he was in bounds. "I don't know."

Told that there was no replay in the Alamodome, he smiled and said, "So it counts."

The reports of Dez with the term "with his left hand" need to stop.

He's left handed.

It's making it seem like he's extremely ambidextrous, when he's using his dominant hand to make these plays. He might be able to catch well with his non-dominant hand, but the reports fail to mention he's left handed and imply that he's a righty making left-handed plays.

 It is a great catch because of the tip. The left handed comment is just trying to give you a visual on what it looked like.

I don't read it like that. I look at it as the writer trying to be very descriptive to us, the reader, and give us a more clear visual of what exactly happened.

... Meanwhile, Roy Williams, standing along the sideline with his helmet off, plotted how to enact "stage two."

You have a problem with them being descriptive? Interesting...and to touch on your ambidextrous comment, Most of Dez's one handed grabs have been with his right hand. Since he's left handed, that's pretty impressive. I guess that probably pisses you off also though.

Hmm alright maybe it's just me.

To me it seemed like it was an attempt to make the play seem even more exceptional pointing out it was with the left hand, which is most of the time the non dominant hand.

No I don't, I just read it differently than you.

I can catch just as well with either hand. It just depends where the ball is.

I agree it's not like throwing the ball, catching is quite as difficult with your off hand if you have large hands.

Especially when you consider that in baseball you catch the ball with your off-hand (granted, albeit with a glove). I think it's fairly natural to be able to catch the ball equally as strong with either hand.

I would be shocked if thats the case.

Maybe it's just a left handed compliment...

I have a replay. Bryant was wide open, but looks like one of his feet was out of bounds.

that catch was a thing of beauty. It definitely sent ripples through the Dome crowd. It was great to see it!!!

:starspin

errrr.....I guess we're talking about two different catches. I was referencing a diving catch he made on Jenkins from
Kitna in Sunday am practice. Not the above vid.

Nice catch but all the descriptions of it from the reporters made it seem like it was a lot more contested than that.

It was good but not nearly as good as the one-handed snag from one of the other videos.
