Wade loves his players
Wade Phillips hop-scotched around his roster talking about certain players and giving the fans some background on them and why some are are inspirations. Here are some more nuggets from the 'Players Coach.'
Terrell Owens: Phillips said T.O. is the only player he's ever had that got mad when he held him out of practice. Talked about T.O. being buddies with a player on the practice squad that he let live in his home. "You don't have to be a star to be friends with Terrell Owens." Wonder if T.O. is hangin' much with backup punter Jay Ottovegio.
Tony Romo: "Overnight sensation."
Leonard Davis: "Some idiot said Leonard Davis was a bust. Now Leonard Davis is the best guard in the National Football League."
Andre Gurode: "Andre is a great worker. He doesn't look it, he looks more like me." Wade tried to explain that he works hard because he has a statue of a huge lion in front of his locker. What? That thing was given to him as a joke. "Well, he's lion-hearted."
Jason Witten: "He goes full speed in walkthrough."
Roy Williams: Was emphatic about his digust for his criticism.
Marion Barber: "He desevered to the be starter probably before I gave it to him."

Anyone who wonders why Wade Phillips is considered a player's coach should have been inside the Hotel Intercontinental ballroom today for the luncheon. He went on and on about individual players' work habits, their character and backgrounds.
No, Phillips didn't say these Cowboys are headed to the Super Bowl. As he said, Phillips is in the coaching business, not the prediction business. But he did offer up this, which turned out to be his most heartfelt line of the day.
"I'm not going to make any predictions," Phillips said. "But this is a team you're going to be proud of.
"And I'm already proud of these guys. Fourteen weeks in the offeseason, what they've done so far, to work and be the best they can be. We've got a ways to go, we've got more preseason games to go to get this season started. But I'm proud of what they've done. We're going to do good things. We're going to do real good things."
