Jerry wasn't serious about Manziel. He liked Manziel early on, but realized that drafting Manziel wasn't the best way to go and some of the coaches really didn't like Manziel. The entire thing about him threatening to put Manziel's name in for the draft was Jerry just joking around with Stephen.

The doofus Peter King misconstrued what was going on (or just mis-reported it because it would make a good story) and everybody has treated that like it's the gospel.

The issues this team has had that prevents it from going to and winning Super Bowls has very little to do with our drafting.

I really believe Stephen talked his Pop out of wanting Manziel. I also believe Stephen has been the main factor why our team has been progressing these past few years. I could be wrong, but I'm going with my inner feeling.

Jerry has always listened to others when making decisions. The only difference between the dark ages and now is that the people he listens to now know more than the people he listened to in the dark ages of Cowboys football.

This is not a surprise to me I have said in many debates around here that Jerry is the last word and still very involved with this team. The key is putting people in place that can give Jerry good advice in terms of personnel in the draft and FA. I think Dallas has that with Stephen, McCray and Garrett.
