Upshaw will take your questions on Friday afternoon.
Welcome to The Show! On Friday, the Executive Director of the NFL Players' Association Gene Upshaw will stop by to chat.
Upshaw has his hands full this offseason dealing with a number of issues facing the NFL. Perhaps the biggest issue is player conduct. The Cincinnati Bengals have had nine players arrested in the last year. ''Pacman'' Jones was involved in a shooting in Las Vegas during the NBA's All-Star weekend. Just this week, Upshaw's constituency, the NFL players, began suggesting a ''three strikes, you're out'' conduct policy.
Upshaw and the NFL also face issues concerning player concussions, retirement benefits and the era of a new commissioner.
Upshaw has held his position in the NFLPA since 1983. For 13 of his 16 years as a player in the NFL, Upshaw was an NFLPA player representative and officer.
On the field, Upshaw was one of the best of his time. He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987, his first year of eligibility. He played in six Pro Bowls and is the only player in NFL history to play in three Super Bowls in three different decades - 60's, 70's, 80's. Upshaw will be joining us at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, so send in your questions now!
