Doing some work and listening to music, some Collins, Gabriel and Genesis. So I want opinions. Who is the best?

Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins?

I say Collins.....

Tough to say... Genesis had completely different styles for each respective singer...

I'll take Collins with Genesis... Collins had a really good solo career until his stuff got silly... but I still like Gabriel better in that respect...

Gabriel's lyrics are so much better than Collins' lyrics, really I don't think it's even close in that respect.

As far as who's more pleasing vocally, it's a hard choice for me because I really like both doing their own style. For instance, I'd much rather hear Phil sing "Easy Lover" than I would Peter. But on the flip side I don't think I'd enjoy Phil singing "Salisbury Hill", "In Your Eyes" or "Games Without Frontiers".

So each has their strengths but I think I'd choose Peter over Phil.

I have never heard any of the Peter Gabriel Genesis that I know of so I can't say anything about that.

But for their solo careers I like Peter overall. Phil has sucked lately. He's just been remaking other peoples songs. Sledgehammer, Shock the Monkey and Games without Frontiers are great songs.

Can't say that I am a big fan of either. There are a few songs that I like from each, but that is about it.

Gabriel also got silly. "Big Time"

I have always seperated lyrics and sound when judging music. They could sing 'watermelon' over and over and, if it sounds good, I will still like it.

I care for music, not poetry.

The only thing she ever had was her looks and now she doesn't even have that. She's been ridden hard and put away wet.

Against All Odds, I'd say that it is In The Air for Phil Collins :D

Phil plays a mean set of drums

phil's a "king of pop" wannabe. gabriel never sold out.

Your opinion is immediately disqualified based on your sig line. Thanks for submitting. :p:

Agreed...Liked collins better with Genesis but liked Gabriel better as a solo artist.
