I think Tony is just having fun, nothing more. In an interview, he said when youre around reporters for a long time you have to be able to tease them every once in awhile like one of the guys in the lockeroom. Tony says he gets along well with Werder and even went as far to say hes one of the better journalist out there
That was awhile ago. I think in this past year Tony has seen Mr. Hair Piece for what he is.
It's one thing to rib a guy, but by making a point to say 'nice hair piece' at the end of a PC filled with reporters and getting a good laugh at that reporter's expense is a bit out of the norm for Romo. Usually when he jokes around, it's usually at his expense or in response to an actual question (like being asked about Parcells saying that he wouldn't want a 'Hollywood QB' and Romo saying 'well, he's a Hollywood coach.')
Romo has always been more that courteous and accessible to the media, particularly Mr. Hair Piece.
Remember this, in week 3 the Cowboys played the Panthers on MNF. Romo had just come off a bad week 2 game against the G-Men. Early in the week, Mr. Hair Piece complained on GAC that Romo wasn't interviewing with the local press and Mr. Hair Piece himself. AND Mr. Hair Piece said to the effect 'if he won't speak to me, then I can write whatever I want about him', which is basically saying 'he won't speak to me, then he deserves for me to bash him.'
As ridiculous as that threat was, Romo did speak to the local media and ESPN later that week, he just took an extra day to address the media because the game was on MNF instead of being on Sunday...which is standard procedure.
So, for a guy that is always courteous and a good interview for Mr. Hair Piece, when he waits one day longer to talk to the media Mr. Hair Piece's was such an ingrate that he starts threatening to bash him.
This happens all of the time with Mr. Hair Piece and most of the local Dallas media. I think it starts to wear on players, I think Brooking who wasn't used to it certainly wasn't goingto start accepting it and I think Romo just sees these hacks for what they are....opportunists, not journalists.
