Both guys have the potential to hit their head on the post, with that said is the younger guy ready to use his speed as well as his mental toughness to show he's ready to be a player in this league. If Blue is able to get things together, do we see more of a role for him than Turpin in our offense on gadget plays? Please give your input

I wouldn't use Blue for "end arounds" or "jet sweeps". I would use him as a TB and it wouldn't hurt to have him catch some short yardage passes. With his speed, he could turn those short yards into longer yards.

In our offense that's asking a bit too much, we usually throw it to a back when the defender is damn near a nose hair away from him!!

I think Turpins time in the NFL is coming to an end so i'd like to see if Blue can step into some of these roles.
I agree it was a feel good story a few years ago but I think it's slowly losing its magic!!

I’d like to see Blue do that stuff while Turpin focuses on KR and PR where he is at his best.
Sounds good

I guess it depends on what you mean by gadget plays. To me these are more your reverses, jet sweeps, flea flickers, double passes, etc.

It’s nice to have the ability in your back pocket to pull out a gadget play if needed, but I bet this is a very low priority for the cowboys this year. You simply have too many big play guys on offense already to feed the ball to without the added trickery and build up that goes with it.

If we get hit with the injury bug and need some extra fire power then go for it. Unless that happens though I don’t see the need to force snaps to a guy like Turpin at the expense of a lamb/flornoy/pickens. Blue I see in more of a traditional RB2 type of role. I’m not sure he needs the deception plays to be successful as much as he needs to focus on being a more complete back.

Both.

Put Turpin in the slot, blue in the back field and move him to the other slot or even next to each other....or put blue in the back field, and have Turpin come across. Let the defense worry which speedster is going to get the ball.

Maybe 2, 3 plays a game. Just enough for defenses to spend time preparing for it during the week

Not gadget plays, but how about two guys that are playmakers that can be put in the right spots?

I recall a slant to Turpin where it was the perfect call. Gone. No shot he wasn’t unless he dropped it.

Blue on the other hand is a bit different. He is subject to many more offensive snaps and has the ability to become the dynamic complement to Williams that could really add another level to the offense. Replacing Williams with Davis every third series is a downgrade. Blue could be someone the defense has had to prepare for.

Guyton, EZ and Blue are the keys to the season….other than what we have to take for granted of course.

This isn’t really even a question

One guy has made a career out of it and the other can’t get on the field

I mean, if he can’t be trusted on handoffs, there’s no way you trust him with anything crazy.

Let's see if Blue makes the team or more pertinent is active on the game day roster and take it from there
