Weird , weird , this guy played in all preseason even with 3rd stringers and still didnt show anything, why they held on to him is a puzzle but restructure and prolong him is really weird.

Unless they intend on extending his contract, this didn't prolong anything. This is the last year of his rookie contract.

This is not a cap space move. It creates a bit of space but nothing to write home about.

This is likely what kept him from being but. We wanted to keep him but not at his former salary if he gave us what he did last year. He earns a good bit of that now if he produces.

This isn't about anything else than squeezing a guy who looked good as a rookie but not so much since.

Weird flex. He was clearly on the bubble. probably half the coaches also weren’t sure he’d make the 53 and there is no guarantee he stays there all year. Plus if I am reading what happened here correctly he just got his salary cut.
