Galloway -- Interview with Patrick Crayton's Agent -- Fred Lyles -- Transcript

Good riddance to a journeyman WR and good riddance to his loud mouth.

He was always talkng but never ascending good status.

Well put. I felt the same way. I get that he's paid to be a negative, pot-stirrer- the bitter counterpoint to the blind hometown faithful. But without the benefit of an editor, he really shows what a simple-minded hypocrite he really is. Thank God Al Gore invented the internet so anyone can dismiss his garbage with one click:

"The locker room is a toxic chemistry disaster, with no leadership, no accountability and no direction from Jerry, Wade or any player. It was a given that in attempting to solve this situation, the first three players who needed to go were Pacman, Tank Johnson, and, most of all, Eldorado Owens. Jerry talks of salary-cap ramifications if he releases Owens, but there are none that amount to anything remotely serious. Plus, there are a collection of Eldorado parrots in that locker room -- I mean you, Patrick Crayton, among others -- and they also should be eliminated. The Cowboys are going nowhere with this current cast of misfits, but without changing the atmosphere and chemistry of the locker room, and with Wade still being allowed to hang around, making his lame excuses, then there will be no T-E-A-M, and no chance to reverse an ongoing slide."

What a tool.

not really caring that he is gone. 4th-5th string WR on this team...Adios...

You will get laughed off this forum with posts like this. (We're already chuckling...)

Crayton was, from a readiness standpoint, the second best Cowboy receiver. He would have made a nice #3 as Dez proved himself ready.

Oh, I am so going to send that to him.

Does Galloway know anything about football, or is he just a putz all the time?

Galloway just sounds like the personification of all of the ignorant things that are posted here. He is angry, ignorant, and does it mostly for show.

I e-mailed him and challenged him to an on air debate about the trade of Patrick Crayton and then called him a coward and said I did not expect him to have the nads to accept.

I've listened to his show for years now, simply because I think he's funny, he does have good sources, and they have good guests. And I'd say you're close. But even more than simply being negative, it's a case of pumping up his personal favorites (read: sources) and trashing everyone else. He touted the greatness of Greg Ellis and Crayton because they were his buddies and sources on the team. He didn't care about a Canty or an Anthony Henry because they weren't. He's big buddies (and I think drinking buddies) with Norv, and was dying for him to get the job here so he'd have the inside scoop. Wade not so much, and Wade doesn't talk, so he *still* can't let it go that "Jerry hired the wrong guy" even though Wade and Norv have very similar records. He acted like Avery Johnson was Red Freaking Auerbach because he liked Avery. With Rick Carlisle, he's a lot more neutral.

And to those who say (we know who they are) that you're just sensitive because he's talking about the Cowboys, wrong again. He was a baseball beat writer for years, and is almost always positive and hopeful about the Rangers. Same with the Stars. Cowboys are totally different.

Just pointing out that so much of the propaganda he spills is totally rooted in personal bias and his personal gain as a columnist, and there's little other rhyme or reason to it. Losing Crayton was a disaster because he's a Dallas guy, always talks to the media (even Ben and Skin said yesterday that if you wanted to know anything about the team at any time, you knew to go right to Patrick's locker) and is a source. If we'd traded a guy with similar or more value he didn't know -- say a Gerald Sensabaugh -- he'd barely have said a thing.

But I will say this: There's no point in taking him too seriously, because he doesn't even take himself that seriously. He'll flatly tell you that.

Pretty much standard procedure.

Hmm,.. sounds interesting. Don't be surprised if he does take you up on the offer. As he sometimes claims, he loves to stir the pot to get his callers riled up. IF he does, let us all know, so we can tune in, that ought to be fun :D

Irony of it is, Galloway has been predicting Cowboys go to SB this year and lose in the SB. So he is not exactly down on the team. He has his pet cats, just like posters on this board, and will go to bat for them regardless of logic or facts. Much like some posters on this board.

I sure will. He has the button and can always hang up on me, and in truth I expect him to and of course he will have the last word because it is his show. He doesn't want any of me in a football debate though.

This has got to be the most ridiculous, unprofessional interview I've ever read. They sound like a bunch of idiot shock jocks, holy crap.

It's even worse when you hear it and get the tone of their voices.

I agree with you.

I am not a fan of bashing the media at every turn, but in this one Galloway deserves whatever salvo the fans fire. He was overboard.

I understand being against the Crayton trade. He'd have been against keeping him too. He just wanted to grip and rip.

What did he say that was wrong. It was a stupid, stupid move. Another in a long line of stupid, stupid moves, made by our Fake GM/Moronic Owner.

If you want to be mad at anyone by mad at the moron running this team.

I have no issue with the move. He was potentially 5th on the depth chart.

Behind who? Olgetree? Holly? Hurd? :laugh2:

Romo was comfortable with him, he was more productive then Roy. I would put him solidly at 4 as high as 3rd. Bryant hasn't even played a down yet. No telling if Austin's year last year was an anomaly, Crayton was proven and consistent. To trade him and for a 7th to boot. Jerry Jones worst GM/Owner ever.

hahaha....worst GM\Owner.....ever?

It amazes me in the overreaction.....Cryton didnt want to be the 4th WR here....so he was traded

SB MVP Holmes was traded for a 5th.....

Damn..you might as well of promote Crayton as a number 1 then...according to you....Austin is unproven....Roy is a bum....Dez is a worthless rookie...

tell me again what Crayton proved? Did he ever prove to be a #1 or #2 WR?

Crayton was a solid #3.....nothing more and with Dez comming on board....Crayton didnt want to accept being the 4th WR.....

Why is it so hard to understand....that he had to go?...
