Lets hear it guys.

My Game Ball goes to Anthony Fasano.
It looks as though he has progressed this offseason and has a more understanding of the pro game.

My Lame Ball goes to Brad Johnson.
I'm sorry, but did he even get a first down this game, and that second fumbled snap reminds me of why he is a backup.

Your thoughts?

Game ball: Matt Moore...

Not bad for the kid's first outing, especially considering he hadn't looked all that good in camp.

Honorable mention: Leonard Davis... do yourself a favor if you Tivo'd the game like I did. Re-watch our first few drives and only focus in on Davis. He looked like Larry Allen in his prime, and that's saying something.

Lame ball: Troy Aikman...

Troy will always be one of my very favorite athletes of all time, and I do understand that he has to be unbiased in his analyst gig... but the "I've moved past the blue star" comment hurt. I'm sure he just said it to reassure all NFL fans that he is not a Cowboys homer, but it was his time as a Cowboy that allowed for him to be the prominent analyst he is today. It came off sounding very ungrateful, IMO, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who didn't like his wording one bit.

Honorable mention: Our 1st team redzone offense... sorry, but 6 points in 2 redzone opportunities is a good way to lose in the NFL. Taking advantage of redzone opportunities is one of the most underrated aspects of what it takes to win a football game, possibly as important as winning the turnover battle.

Not that it matters, but seeing as how Johson bashing is so en vougue these days, I think the facts should at least be put on the table...

In his two series, Johnson went 3 and out on the first, then on the second led the team to 2 first downs, one of which (a 10 yard pass to barber) was called back for an illegal formation penalty. He didnt' play well, but I think people are greatly exaggerating his ineffectiveness.

Game ball: the TE's

Lame ball: special teams coverage units.

:hammer:

You weren't the only one. It seems like he makes one or two comments, every time he covers the Cowboys, that I could do without.

Gameball: None it is a pre- season game

Lameball: Who cares it is pre-season

This is a learning experience for players and stuff. I will let it play out and see what happens. 1st it was the 1st preseason game second you have a lot of people getting snaps that will not even be on an nfl roster. Next you run a vanilla base offense and defense set and rarely change it you try to see who players react in the base. You do not even game plan or make any adjustments in your play calling. So I am refusing from getting overly excited or depressed over a Prea-season game
