1a Tony Romo for proving hes the real deal

1b Jason Witten for carrying the recieving core early in the game

3. Marion Barbar for sparking the team

LOST IN THE SHUFFLE

1. McBairer[sp]= Another dominanent performance by him. I think we all lose the thought that we have the best punter in the NFL

2. Ratilff= for finally getting some pressure up the middle

3. Folk= For having good kickoff air time and length

4. Jason Garrett= Even though I think he runs a tad bit too much he certainly gave our offense a chance to succeed today

I cannot believe how people are not talking about this ..... In my opinion Ratliff played better tonight than I have ever seen Fergy play.

He was constantly at the QB's feet.

Game Balls:

1) Romo, nuff said. Even the INT, while some are saying it was a bad read, the safety who got it was releasing after he bit on the play fake. It wasn't a read, it was a fixing of a screw up. It was a bad play because romo waited too long.

2) Ken Hamlin - he has some coverage issues I hope we can mask, but he has some heart I haven't seen in a while. I like watching him.

3) Owens - caught well, blocked well, just a good old time from him.

4) Folk - looks like we have a kicker.

LOST IN THE SHUFFLE:

1) we don't win tonight if not for Matthias Kiwanuka. I love the guy - coveted him out of Boston College. But he is a down lineman. He moved OK in space, but had ZERO ball skills. Some of those passes to witten were right by him and interceptable, but he just can't play that. Coughlin and Spagnuola are ******** for putting an excellent pass rusher in that position.

2) Reeves - for his position, I thought he did pretty well. Plaxico is a tough matchup, even for Newman. The guy is going to get his.

3) Spears was finally benched and came in only situationally - about damned time. Hatcher and Ratliff actually played pretty well.

4) Spencer - some nice movement - he has a learning curve, but he did some good things.

5) Crayton/Hurd. Obviously Hurd did well, but Crayton made some nice, Crayton-esque plays. Our WRs are solid

6) Garrett did a good job in play calling mostly, but he got a little stupid-creative on some of those plays. That screen to TO was a stupid call and should have been audibled after the press coverage was there.

I agree with all of your choices, but I really want to emphasize Jason Garrett. Man, when he sees something is working he goes to it over and over and over and over. He is relentless. When he saw that the middle was opened up on play-action, he just kept doing it. Too many times over the last few years we've gotten cute when something else was working. Why change when they can't stop it?

Marion Barber = ELECTRICITY
Julius Jones = not so much

I soooo want Julius to get it done. You can tell he gets pizzed everytime MBIII goes off - but he never answers the bell and does anything about it when he gets his opportunity. It's puzzling...

Regarding that INT by Romo, even without the safety getting the INT, T.O. was already blanketed by his guy. That was a poor POOR throw. You have a lead in the 4th quarter with time running down. You better make the throw ONLY if there's a ton of space between T.O. and the defender. That was NO time to be forcing the ball in.

wouldn't that be more on Romo for not calling an audible?

Because thats what we were calling the plays for. Phillips said himself, Ratliff is quicker so we run more stunts with him in the game.

Fergy was the starter for a reason though. Notice how poor our run defense was? Losing Ferguson is a big loss. Even though its not glamorous, the NT in the 3-4 is a very important position. I would have rather lost Ellis for the year than Ferguson.

I think so yes - but I also just don't see the purpose of the play. I like a quick screen, but not one that takes so long to setup. Why fake it and let the DB get a read on the WR?

For the most part it was good plays - but a few were real headscratchers.

TO opened up evrything on Offense. Witten doesn't do anything without TO getting doubled up by the saftey. Middle was open for Witten. The blocking down field was amazing.

I would not go that far.

But I wish JJ would not go down so easy on the shoe string tackles.

Witten looked alot like Novacek last night. Jones is a mystery to me-just doesn't have "IT". Ratliff does give a good pass rush but I agree that he is a serious liability against the run: we just can't have that continue.

probably going to have to run alot more after what we saw last night...our D just cant be trusted to do anything positive until they prove otherwise..we need to keep the ball as much as possible...highly unlikely that we hang 45 pts or score as easy on the bulk of the schedule we have remaining...Miami, Chicago, New England, Philly, Green Bay, Carolina and even Washington play far better D than what NYG did

he got credit for a full sack (that I bet gets changed to a half sack) but other than that, not sure what some are seeing...he was awful vs the run (not his fault IMO, he really is not a NT)

.

when was Spears benched?

Hatcher did absolutely nothing...at least Spears made one good play vs the run and will probably share a sack with Ratliff...he was should have drew a holding call from McKenzie on another play...

but honestly anybody trying to argue that anyone on our D (other than perhaps Ware) played anything close to average is pretty lame...that was a total team sucking effort tonight...we didnt give up 35 pts and all those yds because of one or two guys

You know I agree with that.

Ratliff might end up being the better NT.
