I just wanted to post my report on going to Dallas and watching the game last Thursday.
I wanted to start out giving a little background. Early last season I met ILOVEJERRY here on the board. I bought a few jerseys for him while I was traveling in Korea. We started talking back and forth about the Cowboys. Over the summer we decided to meet up for a game sometime this season and decided that the Green Bay game would be a good one to check out. We thought that it would be easier to get tickets because we thought that Green Bay wouldn't be that good and it was Farve last season, so tickets wouldn't be that hard to get.
Well as the game got closer we realized that it wouldn't be so easy to get tickets and it would be an even better game to see because of the success of both teams this season. Anyway, here is a summary. I have a bunch of pictures and if anyone is interested I can post them later today (kid has to go to soccer soon).
Pro's
ILOVEJERRY is the man. He got us free tickets on the 20 yardline row 4 from the field. We were 10 yards from Deion, Aikman, Staubach, not to mention the tunnel where the player come out to the stadium and right in front of the cheerleaders. Awesome. awesome seats. The seats would have been great regardless, but free was a huge bonus. His client who gave them to him bought them for $750 ea.
The game itself was great. By halftime the Cowboys looked like they were going to blow them out. They were getting unreal pressure, WR's and TE's were wide open, the O-line was giving Romo an incredible amount of time to throw, kickoff returns looked like they would break it every time and the Pack kickoff returns were going nowhere. It was a very exciting game with a lot of scoring.
We were on the big screen at the stadium. Actually ILOVEJERY was I was right behind him in the shot so you could see only part of me.
They had a bunch of older Cowboys come out at halftime. Too Tall, Dorsett, Staubach, Aikman, Nate Newton, Waters, Moose, etc, etc. There were probably 30-40 of them.
Again, it looked like the Cowboys would blow them out with Farve out and a 17 point lead.
Con's
The Packers did make it close with a backup QB. We didn't put them away and kept them in the game with false start penalties. There were a lot of Packer fans there. We had some right behind us, in the row in front of us to the right and in front of us to the left. I would say that 1/3 of the people in the stadium were Packer fans. I think the place holds 65k so you do the math. The Packer fans actually caused a false start penalty. That is amazing to have happen at the Home team's house. I have to take my hat off to them, Packer fans are very good, loyal fans.
Summary
It was great to go to Dallas to see another game. I have been to many other stadiums to see the Cowboys, but it is always nice to be in the home stadium even if it was only a partial home field advantage. I was doing my part. I still don't have a voice from all the yelling. Got some nice pictures and realized that I should have listened to my wife and gotten a new camera. I was getting very frustrated with mine.
Anyway, it was great to see the game and we had great seats and let me know and I will get some pic's up if anyone wants to see them.
