I got to go to the game yesterday with my special son. It was a great time just he and I. I was able to get some great seats for a great price. We got to walk around the stadium and really enjoy it.

Then the game started:

There were some empty seats in my area at kick off. Some were late arriving, and I was disappointed when a couple showed up with wine glasses and a Kindle Fire, to read during the game.

The crowd in our section was loud and so was the crowd in the whole stadium, then the first drive happened. The whole energy of the stadium was sapped. There was nothing to cheer about the rest of the game. People on this site complain about crowd noise, well when you march an uninspired team out there, what do you expect?

When McGee came out on the second drive, no one in the stadium knew what happened to Tony. You would think they would make some kind of announcement. It wasn't until the game was over that most people found out what Tony's injury was. There was no replays, or shots of Tony on the sidelines.

Costa is just terrible. He was abused by whichever player was in front of him.

The WR's, all of them were running their routes at half speed, when the play was not going their way.

I don't understand why Garrett went conservative when McGee came in. Why not stick to the game plan to see what the kid can do? The worse that could happen was losing the game......right!

Terrence Newman is just terrible. Absolutely worthless! He is uninspired, and his body language is terrible, it brings his whole team down. I heard Drew Pearson say that he could catch 10 passes for over 100 yards on Newman right now at 60 years old. I have no doubt that he could.

This defense has one great pass rusher and players who are JAGs. Lissemore gives great effort, and deserves a spot on the team. Spencer played well yesterday, but he not nearly consistent enough. Hatcher, Spears, Ratliffe and 99 were just going through the motions.

Fans were booing the pathetic effort put out by the team yesterday. And I don't even blame Garrett or Ryan. The players, especially the defense have no pride and have just about give up. McGee was hit and dropped every time he dropped back. Spencer has a clean shot at Vick and he holds back. I saw many times where the defensive players helped up the Eagles players. I never saw the opposite.

My son really enjoyed it, and I really enjoyed spending the time with him at the game. It was priceless!

Thanks for the write-up. Always nice to get a perspective from someone who went to the game. You get to see things that people watching on TV don't get to see.

What I have been able to see much of the year, however, is a defense that seems uninspired. I keep hearing about how players really want to play for Rob Ryan, but I don't see it. I see a bunch of guys that way too nice, and are afraid of hurting someone or drawing a flag. There's no fire.

Some will blame that on the coaches. I don't. There's only so much a coach can do to motivate his players. If they don't have it, they don't have it. When I watch Newman, I keep thinking how I wish they would have let him go and kept Thomas. I don't know if Thomas will ever be anything, and I've always been a Newman defender, but this year has changed my mind. I wonder if things had been different if Jenkins hadn't gotten hurt in preseason.

As for the others, I think they give what they can, but they're just not that good. I like Lissemore, and hope he can develop into a Stephen Bowen type. I wish we would have paid Bowen enough to keep him, and let Spears and Hatcher go. Would have been roughly a wash as far as the contracts go. Even if that meant having just having Lissemore and Geathers as backups, I don't think we'd be any worse off.

They cut a lot of dead weight from the offense this year. Here's hoping they do the same thing with the defense next year.

It seems like the team would be fired up after a 6-10 season and chance to make playoffs. Win or Lose they still get paid. Valley Ranch needs to identify the lackluster play and bench or swap out in offseason agreed. Money can make people soft. Didnt you all see the Rocky movies lol??

Newman needs to be called out by someone, he just doesn't strike me as someone who is self motivated right now.

Thanks for the post. Glad you got to spend a special day with your son. Sorry you had to endure the crap sandwich that the team put on the field.

It's pretty simple. Fans cheer when they have something to cheer for.
