Got to Hawaii yesterday. Reservations at one of our favorite places on the beach tonight. This morning French toast for the 7am start.

I made a batch of chili yesterday using leftover smoked brisket.
I know, I know... left over brisket? What is that?
I always save some of the flat for chili... about 1.5# smoked brisket added to 3# of ground chuck that I grill over charcoal makes a great start to chili.
jalapenos... habaneros... chipotles... poblanos... tomatoes... onions... spices (cumin/coriander/chili powder/salt)... a beer.
I forgot to buy chorizo, so that was unintentionally left out of the mix... unfortunate.
Still good chili, though!

That sounds really good. I have to try that sometime when I have leftover brisket.

My all time favorite Sunday meal....reminds me of my mom. She's the reason I started this thread. She would always make special meals on Sundays.

Kind of the same. As a kid after church on Sundays we often had pot roast. Pot roast just feels like a Sunday meal to me.

Damp mid 50s here in the Northeast, chili is sitting on the woodstove with a small fire going. Wife is making her cornbread with extra sour cream in the mix. Comfort food.

Change of plans! My wife got held up at her mom's this morning, so she picked up some Angus beef burgers and homestyle fries from a local burger joint. Mine is double 8oz patties with cheese, bacon, jalapeños and extra onions! I'll have half for lunch and finish it off in the second half. Gotta make adjustments...Salud!
