I was thinking about how the Cowboys defense can try to attack Kirk Cousins.
I remember several years ago, I can’t remember the exact year? But it was when Kirk was a Commander.
During one of the games, I’m pretty sure a primetime game, Marinelli ran a really aggressive gameplan. He frequently sent blitzed into the A gaps, forcing pressure right in Kirk’s face all game long.
It was really effective and caused Kirk a lot of problems. I believe the defense gave up very few points that night.
it was a very surprising game, because Marinelli was much more aggressive than normal in regards to blitzing that game.
Is there anyway we see a similar gameplan this Sunday? Is blitzing the A gaps one of the best ways to rattle Kirk and get him to make mistakes?
obviously blitzing heavy puts the back end at risk against receivers like Diggs and Thielen. But if Thielen is out. Perhaps it’s the best strategy to help.
