Just curious, as I know people HATE the idea that teams look too far into the future, but considering the bye week, do you think the coaching staff uses these two weeks to incorporate the Philly game into the plan as well?
Personally, I think that this would be an amazing use of the bye - use this week to do a lot of study on philadelphia, pre-work, and then next week as a normal week on NY. That way on Mon-WEd, you are just refreshing the team on Philly as opposed to starting again.

Probably not actually in practice, but I'm sure they use it to scheme.

THat's a good point, although I would maybe host some optional meetings & film reviews on Philly to the players. If they are off at least.

I'm sure the coaches have used the bye week to start on the game plan on Philly. Their time is very limited between the NY game and the Philly game so I fully expect they will be ready.

I would think also they need another week of Sanchez game tape, which they wont have until after Sunday

Yeah Sanchez throws a wrench into it, but they can still study scheme, tendencies, defense, ST, etc.

It helps a little but I think as much as reviewing the opponent, they will use this time to review themselves for the season. Garrett seemed focused on reviewing what has and has not worked and players during the bye.

Kinda throws a wrench into the "one game at a time" policy but I'd sure be disappointed if we got into the Philly game without having a decent clue about a game plan. Yeah, I imagine they'll use some extra time to look at it.

Good part is Dallas bye week comes at the right time, It gives coaches the time to go over Philly and next week get ready for NY then jump right back on Philly with a short week. Philly coaches will not have it any easier and will have to do much of that during the week as they also have to get ready for teams they are playing this week and next

It'll be a difficult chore for both teams, so that only makes it equitable for both. The upcoming games will be quite an intriguing lineup of tests. Four divisional games with the Bears and Colts sprinkled in between. That should make for quite a stretch run to a year that's been better than most we've seen in a long while. It's been quite a ride so far -- here's hoping things continue looking up as we approach the nitty-gritty portion of our schedule.

True but Dallas does get a slight advantage in that the bye allows them to spend time on Philly as players have time off. League rules state that players get 4 days off during the bye. Coaches on the other hand will be working and I have no doubt they will be putting in the game plan for Philly. Jason is not new to this he has dealt with it as a player in Dallas and a coach in Dallas

The bye week doesn't change my game plans any. I'm still going to eat and watch football all day long.

I'll probably come into the office and get some work done. Maybe turn on redzone. The early games hold precisely zero intrigue for me, but I would like to watch Detroit/Arizona as well as Green Bay stomp a mud hole into the Eagles.

Sounds good to me. I'm expecting Philly, in itself to be a test like running through fire, regardless of any advantages we might take out of the scheduling. If we can get through our divisional games with three wins out of those four games, we should be set up nicely for some happy times.

Players are able to have time off, but I reckon some of them do a little film work anyway. I'd be pretty surprised if Romo wasn't in the office for at least 1 of those 4 days just looking at tape.

I wouldn't be bothered if he didn't, though.

That is true players at home can go over film it is their time. CBA however says players are to get 4 days off during the bye week so the ability to get out on the field they cannot do. I think most players will take a couple of days to get away from things and just relax before they start back up next week and frankly I think that is wise to do
