First there was the debacle of XMas day...now this....I heard before that Garcia was dating a Playmate, as far back as his SF days...now while scanning the TV last night after the Sugar Bowl, I see that show on E channel, the one with Hef's girls....who pops up but none other than Jeff Garcia and his 2004 Playmate of the year fiance...Carmen Decasare...WOW, he is at the Palms partying with 4 other playmates....lets see Carrie Underwood or Decasare....let the debate begin....

ps...what the heck does this woman see in Garcia, to be honest, he "aint a handsome dude"....and besides these last 5 weeks has been a washed up joke.....

But alot of times they use that as a stepping stone to do other things.

If you are one of Hef's girlfriends you are a prostitute, plain and simple. You can put nicer words on it, but that is the reality of it. These young women don't "love" Hugh Hefner, they sell themselves to him. I don't mean literally (though I don't know that for a fact), but I mean figuratively. That is, for whatever it is they are going to "get" out of it, they serve has his "girlfriends".

What are we coming to in society if we can view this in any positive light?

There is probably more truth than not in your statements but unfortunately, whether they love the guy or not is just an opinion.

I wasn't trying (or wanting) to attack you Mike. In fact, my comments were not intended for you at all, just a reflection on what is really happening to those young women, and what the values of ANYONE male or female must be when they would "sell" themselves, sexually, or relationally, for some kind of gain.

This kind of thing is not new, it is as old as depravity, but it has never brought good to anyone, individually or collectively as a society.

So, I guess I would just say I DO think it hurts people. I think it hurts the young women (whether they recognize it or not), and it hurts society when we think that hedonism results in true happiness. In fact, what people like Hefner engage in is not even true hedonism. The philosophical hedonist would have avoided the things that bring pain, and so any "pleasure" that resulted (as the final outcome) in pain would be something to be avoided. The relational, emotional, and personal pain that the "free sex" mentality results in would be something to avoid.

Anyway, , I think the point of the original poster was that Jeff Garcia trumped Romo in terms of his girlfriend. I would put my vote on the side of Carrie Underwood, based on "perception" alone. She may not truly be more wholesome, but at least that is the perception.
