GARCIA SUFFERS LEG INJURY
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 31, 2008, 10:45 a.m.
Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia was carted off the practice field today with an apparent leg injury.

WDAE has a photo showing Garcia, still wearing his helmet and shoulder pads, sitting next to a Bucs trainer in a golf cart.

Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports that Garcia was injured during a non-contact drill. (We’re glad for the “non-contact” clarification. If Bucs coach Jon Gruden were putting Garcia through contact drills, he might as well hang a “Welcome Brett Favre” banner at Bucs camp.)

Per Stroud, Garcia felt discomfort in his right leg as he was rolling out and throwing, and he was seen limping toward the locker room.

I know the turd sucks....but I also just heard this on espn first take confirming the leg injury...it is said to be a calf strain so far...Favre to TB? looks like Gruden just got a reason to do what he was probably going to do anyways.

Sounds like a sprained ACL or MCL. Something to watch for.

All the more reason for them to return to their glory days with Brad Johnson.

Tampa will be the only franchise where their two quarterback's age will total 100+ Work Testeverde in there, maybe as a number 3?

Welcome to Tampa Brett if this is serious.

Yeah, except that Brett doesn't care to play for them.

I guess his "grip" on the starting job wasn't too strong....

Don't bother -- that tiny little fact is lost on most here and in the media.

I wonder if it will turn out that way? If Favre decides that he does not want to play for Tampa Bay, it might turn out to be just the opposite for Chucky. Gotta say, in view of how Gruden has treated his QBs in the last few years, that would be just reward indeed.

Every time I hear Gruden talk in his Jack Nicholsen wanna-be voice, I think Keyshawn Johnson was perfectly within his rights to tell that man to go take a flying ****. He comes across like an incredible douchebag to me. :LOL

Guess all that passionate ranting about how he IS the starting QB there might turn out to be all for nothing.

If I'm not mistaken the Bucs traded for Jake Plummer who refused to play for them and they ended up getting $3 million from him.

Is it possible the Pack could play hard ball with Favre and lower their demands and trade him to the Bucs for a low round pick? If Favre refuses to play the Bucs might be able to make some more easy money.

Adam could probably clarify for us what happened with Plummer and the Bucs.
