Garrard's Comment on our D

Simms during the game said Garrard had said the Dallas D is easy to read. They never disguise their coverage. You'd think on Hallowe'en they'd disguise something.

How can we disguise coverage when we cannot even execute the easy stuff - base cover two, cover three, etc...? We miss assignment after assignment. Terrible.

Wade didn't change much with the 3-4 following behind Parcells, really. We still had soft cushions and wide zones with Parcells, and we still do with Wade.

Basic defense. Line up and play. It sounded pretty bad.

Agreed, it's very similar. Inside backer and safety play... play at the POA... soft. Scheme aside, folks aren't winning battles. As players continue to quit, as this thing spirals, I can only wonder the depths to which this defense will plunge.

I use to blame the players. I even thought maybe we aren't as talented as we think. But it finally hit me today. When I saw us blitz everyone on 3rd down and all of our corners and safeties were playing 10 yards off their receiver and the Jags just threw a screen and walked into our endzone? It hit me. Either these coaches are throwing games are they just simply aren't that good.

I agree the players deserve some blame. I could slap Miles, Felix and Roy for tipping those passes. I could pimp slap the whole offensive line for their run blocking today. I could dropkick Bradie and Brooking for their horrible pass coverage skills (although they were in mismatch situations). I could lambast Marty B for his disappearing act out there. I could crush our DBs for allowing such a huge cushion to WRs. I could curse this whole team for making any and every opponent look like world beaters week after week. David Garrard's passer rating was almost perfect today. David Freaking Garrard.

There were moments... Like when he went 4-6 and had Bradie rack up 8 sacks.... Overloading the sides with Spencer and Ware... totally out the window for some odd reason..

I think they were wanting to take some of the pressure off Kitna. I dont think there is anything wrong with WANTING balance. The problem is it just isnt happening with this offensive line.

That is the problem... Wade always defends the players and the players seem to have abandoned him. His coaching legacy was at stake. Instead of trying to be friends, he should have been as greedy as he could be...
